drug dealers dream

:pachaha:what, so are the only people who can relate to Ross' music are the ones who have either sold drugs or who have people in prison or who have been locked up themselves? Are those the only people who can understand street music? And as dumb/weird of a question as this may seem, how are you using the word "understand" here?

For starters, I hope you know I'm not white. Secondly, I assure you I've read plenty of history books, in and outside of school. I'm curious though, about where you're going with this. lol.

JERU : I DON'T HAVE THE POWR TO BE A RACIST.

you messed up your points in this thread you made.
all because you bit on to the wrong issues and did not know the Facts.
you dropped the ball!
when, you were making a big gain, breh.

I ain't one of those people who think you gotta be street to like street shyt... but are muhfukkas so desperate that they'll listen to THIS guy's opinion of an album that clearly ain't geared toward dudes like him?

It's a fact that if you ain't into this shyt, or a part of it, or were a bandwagon fan who was into it for a few months 20 years ago... you don't really have a voice on it. You have these people who have tricked themselves into believing that because they like a certain type of rap that their opinion on all of it should be taken seriously.

And really, it ain't where you from, it's where you at. Fukk the fact that he's white, or that he's likely from the softest suburbs in his home state... that's not even important. Him being square as all hell is what really stands out here...would you really expect someone so square to even give an album like this a fair shot anyway? People like that are already ready to hate it before they even put it on... you can't expect them to possibly like this shyt whether it's good or not. They're more preoccupied with what the artist represents, what their subject matter is, etc... and it's nothing they have any interest in. So naturally, they ain't gonna like it. These are the same kinda corn chips who 20 years ago woulda dissed Pac, BIG, Snoop, Bone, and all that shyt cause it wasn't "metaphorical" or "complex" like their favorites... don't let these dudes trick you into thinkin' Ross' music would ever have a fighting chance with them in the first place.

But muhfukkas talkin bout "he's right" :rudy: Corny.

what the hell are u talkin about? :what:

I am gonna ask you, the same question.
what the fukk, were you talembout.
as, it is obvious.
you are trying to segregate rap away from the culture.
which, is internally more damaging than you blaming white people.
who have a higher undrstandijg of the music and culture than you, breh.
you just tried to say that hiphop was a genre.
then, street music was a genre.
when, hiphop is a culture.
that is first off,...
next you talk about street music when that is a white construct.
perpetrated by the prison economy system in error.
That you bought into, erroneously.
you just illustrated.
you, are the person missing the undrstanding, culturally.
on top of having verbiage misconstrued and were sent off, by white labeling system made in error.
plus, made to purposefully create divisiveness in a culture.
which you fell for, and you have no one to blame but yourself.

It goes even beyond that. People have said shyt like "if you dont fukk with Ross youre not a real nikka". Well, what exactly about dude's music is "only for real nikkas"? Albums like Reasonable Doubt, OB4CL etc are by and for real street dudes, and yet they are also loved and respected by hip hop heads of all kinds. So how is Rick Ross shyt, some of which is fabricated to the point of absurdity, "too real"? Why can't it just be not that good? Nobody has the answers.

I think dismissing dude's opinions because he doesn't have the exact same background or music tastes as you do (I'm speaking generally) is a pretty closed minded way to approach music. I think people are angry/confused as to why someone who is clearly much more knowledgeable about music than they are doesn't fukk with the shyt they listen to.That's what it comes down to. Because if he fukked with the album I'm sure people would be on his dikk and giving him the respect he's due. People don't want objective reviews from knowledgeable reviewers... they want a self-feeding reaffirmation of their own tastes.

prolific posting!!

Nah dude.. i've been following Fantano for about two years now. Our musical tastes, are just different. And with hip-hop he has very hipsterish tastes. I haven't seen a positive review for any street based music from him that you couldn't see on the undercard of a Coachella or Outlook festival.

If you can find two street based rappers (that would be outta place at coachella) that he's enjoyed, i'll be shocked.

real talk,...
there have not been any great albums or mixtapes, like that in quite a while.
on top of the fact, the talent is generally skill deficient and offkey wack ass fukk.
mixed with trying to bite.
beyound, more than an obvious level of wackness.

fantano is known as argueably the best video reviewer on the web.
despite the fact you don't like that he does not like Rick ross's material.
