both of them were under the Universal umbrella fukking up DEF JAM and MOTOWN....

when MORRIS made the move to SONY...he brought his "domesticated pets" over to EPIC to "breed" more mules and field bucks like that boy from Brooklyn that they had DANCING on tables :lolbron:

As popular as rick ross is this is stupidity signing with a major record label when he can be independant and own his own shyt, but nikkas on here like he's using their money to bankroll his businesses and they have more power with marketing, and never use your own money cause you may flop... I'm like: :snoop:

As popular as Rick Ross is he doesn't need to be on any label under a contract he built a fanbase. he has the connections, he can get new beatmakers for cheap, he has the infrastructure, why does he NEED their money???

AS AN ESTABLISHED ARTIST... he has to know for a fact that any work under them he WONT OWN...:mindblown:

How can you guys willingly tell me that's a good thing???

You think him going to epic will somehow give him a career boost?:mjlol:
His albums may not be selling well, but don't be mistake, Ross could sell out an 80 show nationwide tour easily :whoa:

ross album flopped

don't really see this as a power move

thats what happen when artists flop they go from label to label until they relevance is completely gone

i agree he should be trying to do something more independent and get a bigger cut while the getting is still good

It's a new day & age. The funny part is a LOT of artists are signing for SALARY. The label will pay Artist X like $2,500 a month & if that artist stops doing their "job"... guess what? :ld:

Might as well have a 9 to 5...the same shyt...behind the scenes is where it's at then...now if i could just find somebody to write for and sing one of my hits...:to:

I'm lost why would he sign with Epic when he supposedly has his own record label

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
That's not his fault. It was a good deal. They advanced him money for a certain amount of albums. Nas held up his end.
Knowing the industry for about 15-20 years. Nas should have known better

Of course he held up his end. Every artist wants to hold up their end. Which would be dropping 5-10 albums

The problem is when someone else controls you, you have no insurances they'll hold up their end. Which is why your plan should be to get from under that. Not keep signing back

That's like being a slave. Working to get freedom. Then saying fukk buying a house and picking my cotton. Let me sell myself to another owner. Then be shocked when they whip you
