Yea. Some of them sound like they are holding the community hostage until reparations come.

shyt won't change until people start to denounce hoodlums, you can wait for Washington forever or you can start doing what you can in the meantime. That is small shyt like being a father, not having kids until you are capable of raising a family, stay educated on basic things such as labor markets, taxes, education, insurance, healthcare, political system, broads not fukking with bum ass dudes cause they have a nice chain and the list goes on. These are very basic things, but apparently extremely difficult to break the downward spiral.
It's not the either or the other, it's not let's get paid for what we went through or we'll just sit here and die slowly waiting. We came from slaves to this, without it, in worse environments than this, we can still go on. Us shooting each other, a million brehs working for free as slaves in the prisons, poverty affects us. But there's too many people who would rather just wait and attack anyone who says let's do anything other than wait for cash from Washington, that's why I rarely give a fukk about even discussing politics and society with people I don't know.

People like you and those in it and other non entertainment fields need to show folks that its other ways to get the bag. As more and more people do,this that will spark real change IMO. I'm telling you ime as you get money honestly this woe is me talk that's rampant on here isn't as prevalent from black cats. People feel moreso sympathy but don't feel like dudes can't make it and in discussions will point to folks being on here instead of learning a skill that can't help them advance if they aren't where they want to be at.

Exactly, I mentored a young BM through Big Brothers/Big Sisters from 7 to adulthood. First day I picked him up there were shell casings on the street next door from a drive by the previous day.
Sure, he isn't perfect and is still trying to get into a trade school or Job Corps to get vocational trading training but he is on zero street shyt and likes to pass his time reading. Sad thing is when we had a meeting of the Big Brothers one day, there were less than 12 BM (this was in Upstate NY).
If half these "fukk thug nikkas", "we need to get it together" people went and helped one ONLY ONE at risk youth you could probably fix the problem with 1-3% of the BM population. But no, it's easier to feel virtuous being outraged watching Facebook Live videos when they are too-far-gone and bust caps.
You don't even have to live in the hood to do this, just meet with the kid 1-2x per week. The tools are there.

White supremacy put black people in a very disadvantaged position, this is an undeniable fact.
What I take issue with, is putting FULL blame on racism for "black crime" since there is also "white crime" that exists. I think it's completely ignorant to say removing systemic racism is the ONLY way to address crime, though I do believe addressing the root cause of disproportionate crime is necessary and relevant.
We do ask our communities to do better, and we have to continue to avoid sitting by and excusing acts of violence within the community because of years of oppression.
I hate this narrative of being "forced" to choose a life of crime. It's an easier solution than painful hard labor but it's rarely THE ONLY OPTION. We're so attached to fast money to get out the hood that we can't sometimes make the commitment to taking the long legal route. There's not one cause for crime, similarly there's not one single solution.

This starts at the beginning tho. We all have to be leaders / role models for the younger brehs coming up and guide them.
Break up the dysfunction patterns and open their eyes up to all of the opportunities out there.

Black Panther Party broke up entire gangs by educating, giving vocations, and supporting community work while also feeding people.
