If they are just adding a paid service which enables users to have access to everything like on Apple Music, Spotify, Google Music, and keeps the local bum ass artist/remix content SoundCloud can still be a very viable option.

Obviously but it's the top way android users keep up with it. Bill Simmons average 400k listens per podcast off soundcloud
Surely there's got to be another easy alternative though? I listen to quite a lot of podcasts while doing ish and don't only play through ITunes, some I just click on a play button and it plays no problem, I think there's a lot of ways nowadays to upload that ish. I think something else if Soundcloud dies that will become the norm that won't cause too much inconvenience.

Honestly I'm not sure because I use iOS. I know soundcloud is the most popular podcast hosting app their users use tho. I'm sure an app will step up and take their place if this is true though

QUICK someone start a dummy soundcloud site called soundzcloud. As soon as the charge hits, you can bounce your site into relevance by not charging anything. Soundcloud, I already pay for too many streaming subscriptions, you are trying to walk on clouds with this one.
