get at me when steph does this for 15 years
Exactly. shyts disrespectful. As good as steph is playing this year this nikka kobe averaged 35. The only nikka that's above him is jordan period. People say oh well if steph took that many shots he'd average more!...they said the same about lebron and you saw how has efficiency dripped drastically in the finals when he was taking kobe shots

Per 36 minutes:

Kobe in 2006
23.9 FGA
31.1 points

Curry this year
20.7 FGA
31.8 points

Kobe also took 3 more free throw attempts. So 3 more shots, 3 more free throws, and he still scored less...yet he's the better scorer somehow? Does not compute.

Yup.

And yet the Kobestans still come through to add:

Keep trying to prove that no matter how dumb they can look, there is still further down to go.

By that logic, 2006 was Kobe's greatest season. You willing to stand by your logic? Kobe's best season can only game a team a 1st-round exit?

Elgin Baylor averaged 38/game for a season. 38>35...so is Baylor better than Kobe? Come on, tell us why Kobe's 35-5-5 season was obviously better than Baylor's 38-19-5 season. And Baylor hit 34+ three seasons in a row, while Kobe only broke 30.0 twice. Rick Barry's best scoring season beats out Kobe too...so is Rick Barry better than Kobe as well?

You might just as well have shouted "Ringz11!~!!!!"....and probably wouldn't even have realized that the arguments were mutually contradictory.

The only reason Kobe scored 35/game in 2006 is because he averaged 41 minutes and 27 shots a game.

Curry's teams are taking souls so early, he's getting 30/game with only 34 minutes and 19 shots.

You really doubt that Curry could score 5 more points a game if he played 7 more minutes and took 8 more shots? The evidence on his shooting patterns suggests it would not be an issue.

It's tough to say :manny:. Four greatest offensive players in their respective primes (in no particular order):

1. Jordan
2. Bryant
3. Durant
4. Curry

That article I linked in the previous comment goes too far. Just some fukked-up charts:

So Steph gets better as the shot clock winds to zero? :ohhh:

morris-stephcurry-41.png

When defenders are 2-3 feet away, the average NBA shooter is hitting 27% of his threes. Steph is still hitting 45%.

Steph is better with a defender 2-3 feet away from him than the rest of the NBA is when they're wide fukking open. :yeshrug:

(The good news is that if you stay within 1 foot of Steph, you can hold him in check. If he gets 2 feet of separation, you're fukked. The difference is the length of a shoe.)

Pull-up threes are usually a bad shot - the NBA as a whole only makes 28% of pull-up threes. But Curry shoots more of them than anyone else AND makes a way higher percentage of them than anyone else.

People are talking like Kobe shot better from mid-range than Steph. No, Steph is shooting fukking 57% from midrange, numbers Kobe could never touch. It's just that he hardly takes any mid-range shots...

because why would you ever shoot a midrange shot when you can hit threes the way that Steph does? :francis:

So overall shooting value added?
