Given the album a spin. I fux with it. It feels like it's in the lineage of RR2 and Kaos, in that its a little left of centre compared to other joints in his catalogue.

Downtown 81:obama:

Covid Cough :scust:

The Eye Of Whorus :whoo:. Stove God :wow:

Broadway Billy:leon:

The cover art is pretty much the perfect visual representation of how I feel about this. Roc's fly talk ($100 bills) over some pretty out there sounding beats (the paint splashes)

I wonder what this Phase 2 Jazz was talking about is :jbhmm:

Stove God is ridiculous man
Most entertaining emcee out right now. He's just fukkery turned up to 11.

I dont know. Maybe because I was up on Marc from UN days I feel like he has regressed since Reloaded - definitely since Pimpire Strikes Back - I have never been able to sit through Behold the Dark Horse. May need to revisit but his style is not my cup of tea these days.
You and @Funcrusher have a point IMO. Behold a Dark Horse is my favorite in a long time too, because the beats sounded more grounded and the vocals were mixed better. One of my pet peeves is when people get up in arms about mixing. I see threads on who the best engineers are, and unless it's a rare case like Dr. Dre or if the listener is just an audiophile, most people can't tell the difference if the mixing is decent.

But Roc has some straight up terrible mixing. Rosebudd's Revenge and Marcielago have songs that are hard to listen to without high-quality headphones.

There's even a couple joints here on Mt. Marci where it sounds like he's got marbles in his mouth (Rabbits, Butterfly, Whorus). Someone in here said he might've been rapping with a grill in.

Backlog is way too long to spend 40 bucks on a digital release :yeshrug:

And I fukks with Roc pause, got RR2 digital for 30 and the signed vinyl for 100; but I was starving when that dropped. I'm good waiting for the physical.
