Marcelago isn't a dud.

Respectfully disagree. Worst album next to this and Beacoup.

I mean it's better than Kaos...I will always hate that album...boring as fukk..better than Rosebudd pt 1 also...that's was just lazy mastering that lead to why am I even listening type vibes...I was hoping by naming this Mt Marci he was gonna show mfs why he is the father of this movement and take it back to Marcberg...he is too comfortable over slow grooves and by doing that makes all his recent stuff sound the same...lyrically he is the goat but Reloaded and Pimpire spoiled me...he's had a few highlights on each album afterwards but I dont kno man...

That's it. He's gotten too comfortable post Pimpire. Aside from the mastering, I felt RRI was a great album, but it feels like he's putting minimal effort into these last 4 or 5.

Brehs...this Luv NY album is dope as fukk. :wow:

And I'm just now hearing this after all this time? :mjtf:

:whoo:

:wow:

:mjlol:

:mindblown:

Keith's and Roc's styles couldn't be further apart but they somehow work so well together. Especially over this ill piano loop :banderas:

Ray West's style fit Roc very well.

Before this dropped I argued he needed to evolve or do something new because his shyt was on the edge of becoming stale/predictable. However while this album is largely on the same Reloaded wave, the samples and loops are so left that I think he deserves credit. Album is damn good.

At the same time...I was listening to Scarface nikka last night wondering where that Roc went. Now is the perfect time to bring back the abrasive snares/drums.

Ran this back last night and its gets better with every listen. Wicked Days is still the worst joint on here but Roc somehow makes that shyt work.

These simple, almost repetitive yet effective loops are fantastic once you get in the zone for them. Honestly, I gotta give it up to RZA because I feel most, if not all of these were done in the same vein as some of his work.

Beats like this:

It's almost simplistic but it works so well. Roc pretty much gave us an entire album of that and its great. The beat switch on IGWT off Marcielago sounded like some straight Wu Tang shyt anyway and he fukked around and gave us an album's worth :wow:

I’ve liked the last Several releases but I also at the same time I feel like he’s sort of coasting and possibly going through the motions a little bit. It’s sort of feels like he’s making the same album over and over. And I’m fine with that but when you say he may not be putting in a ton of effort I don’t necessarily disagree

Balanced and objective. Probably my take as well

Thats been my main complaint with breh, i forget which album thread it was for breh, but I got the tomatoes thrown at me for mentioning anything about repetitiveness

This was my first takeaway as well. These aren't straight up loops that play through. They're chopped and minimal as fukk. Wheat 40s is straight up RZA shyt. Sometimes it doesn't work exactly, like Butterfly Effect. I wouldn't have looped that, like that. Yet it's not terrible and left enough to still be interesting.

This is by far his worst album imo! The production is lazy! I cant find one song worth listening to again! Hopefully the album with ALC will bring some life back into Roc.

this album a step in the wrong direction.

he need to rhyme a little more precice and in the pocket with better beat selection.

call daringer arch druids alchemist nicholas Craven Mach hammy n them for a lifeline

I enjoyed pale horse. this has moments but I'm not running it back like that.
