I don't like this more than Marcielago, but Craven is a knockoff of Roc as a producer, so why would I wanna hear Roc just work with a not as good version of himself?
Daringer's in between. Not a Roc knockoff, and I wouldn't be mad hearing him over Daringer again. The few joints they've done have been pretty dope. But I'm also not dying to hear Roc over Daringer either.
Not really sure who I wanna hear Roc over next. I'm actually not even that stoked for an Alc album. I mean I'd cop it day one, but even their energy IMO is either very hit or very miss. Some of both my absolutely favorite and least favorite Roc joints are produced by Alchemist.
I definitely wanna hear something from a different producer, but I just don't know who yet.
Man, after Downtown '81 I wouldn't mind a Jake One produced Roc album. Jake is versatile as fukk. Dude can produce that, De La and DOOM, 50 and G-Unit, Hov, Ross, and then also produce for Tuxedo. The versatility has my interest piqued.
So you’re saying you hate Roc and every song he’s ever made isDark Horse is the one that stands out to me as being nothing like any of the others. I thought it was just assumed based on how I'd spoken previously in the thread that I consider that one a real gem in terms of it sounding very different than anything else he's done.
IMO you can take most of the songs on Bitter Dose, Marcielago, and Mt Marci and interchange them with each other, and no one would be too thrown off by it. A lot of the joints are interchangeable to me. I guess Mt Marci and Marcielago sound more similar than Bitter Dose; that's the most experimental one.
It's still top shelf, elite rap. I'm not hating even a little bit. If I say anything critical, it's just because I'm holding Roc to the highest standard possible, because I think he's that good. He's possibly the best emcee on the planet and the most unique hip-hop artist alive. That's the only reason anything I'm saying might be sounding critical.
I'm starting to get the vibe you can't say even one critical thing about Roc without getting pounced. And not you so much @spliz but definitely by some cats on here as well as some spots on some discord servers.

Probably gonna be one more week breh. Roc usually has the albums for sale on his website only for 2 weeks. After 2 weeks he puts them on streaming platforms. It should be up everywhere by the end of this week.spotify?
Actually, you just sold me. Pete Rock is in his fukkin' bag right now. That's absolutely what I'd love. Pete and Roc. Full circle. Just like you said.I def wouldn't mind more Jake one collabs. I think him and alc could knock a dope one out of the park, the joint they have on the last yacht rock was amazing and Fabio was dope on dark horse. Wasn't too keen on the song they have on marcielago....they just gotta lock in. I'd kill for a pete rock album with him tho, his voice and petes beats are what made me a fan back on petstrementals. Would be like a full circle moment.

Yeah, the Alc collabs are weird. I liked Fabio too. My favorite Roc/Alc joints (excluding Flash Gordon) are all not on Roc albums: Hoard 90, All For It, In Case You Forgot, Death Sentence, Rich Man Play, Modern Day Revelations, Harry O....
No one is gonna believe me on this, and that's fine, but right before Reloaded dropped, a mutual friend between me and Alc said Roc was shopping a full project produced by Alc around to labels and was asking an enormous price for it. None of the levels wanted to pay for it. If Reloaded had already gotten it's praise? Mayyyybeee, he said. I also trust his ear tremendously, and he said when he heard it it was a letdown compared to what was out.
How does it sound? much difference?
