Surprised more people don't fukk with Trenchcoat Wars. Song makes me drive, walk, and do home workouts with evil intentions.

4 songs off this get added to my curated Roc Marci playlist. Trenchcoat, Wheat 40s, Butterfly Effect, Mt. Marci.

Yo. This nikka Roc Marci on drugs for his merch prices. $225 for a long sleeve T Shirt nikka? Yea aight. Lol
That's a real price? :mjtf:

I've told the story of him shopping around the Alchemist album to indie labels and telling them he needed like 50k for the album and had some sideways looks. Granted this was a while ago but still. No wonder that album never dropped. I heard that on very good sources too, and seeing that Roc is selling a t-shirt for $225 absolutely makes me believe that he'd try to bring boutique album to a label for a ridiculous price.

He is tripping hard on Wicked Days :dead::laff: it sounds like what somebody who is tired about hearing about “lyrical rap” thinks lyrical rap is :laff:

This is his funniest album. As for production, he can honestly further left. I'd love to hear an album full of Ephesian or Steel Vagina type stuff or triple down on the Kool Keith influence. He already gave us the traditionalist rap project with the Stove God joint

What’s ur fav Marci albums Walt?

Reloaded and Marcberg flip-flop at the top depending on my mood.

I rate Pimpire higher than most people. The high point of that album/mixtape are really high for me.

RR2 was a complete album, even the experimental moments were dope.

For me those are his 4 albums I can throw on whenever and they always sound fly.

Marcielago and Beaucoup both were cool, I was able to find joints to add to my overall Roc playlist on those. Not great albums to me, but cool.

Kaos was wack to me. Didn’t like it at all. RR bored me for the most part. I really fukked with Behold a Dark Horse off the first few listens, but when I go back to it I get bored.

Not sure where I’d rank Mt. Marci yet.

Uptown, Downtown, Switzerland
album's an audio Abel Ferrera movie.
which, fits since the albums seems to be pretty polarizing.

that Schoolboy Q verse garbage, that and Wicked Days the ones I'm not fukking with.
the Kool Keith collab should work but it felt kind of disjointed.

I think the biggest thing people hold against Roc now is that rooted in realism from the first two albums and Pimpire has been gone and Roc has pretty much become a character and play's into it now. so he goes bigger/weirder which starts to reflect in the songs and production choices.

That's a pretty solid list. Good shyt.

Does anyone remember when Beaucoup was supposed to have no rhymes from him and just him producing for other people?

I didn't hate Koas but it's near the bottom of my list. Pimpire is definitely underrated as hell.

Stove God had more traditional beats from Roc on Reasonable Drought, but it's been a long time since we heard Roc on those kind of beats. I dunno I thought he would've sounded really dope over that batch.

I got the impression that The Reasonable Drought beats were lowkey meant for a Roc project too

“[Roc] was like, ‘Just let me do the whole album, man!’” Cooks jokes. As the story goes, their initial exchange of just a couple songs for Marciano’s Marcielago album made the New York legend realize Cooks’ potential was unmistakable. “He just gave me a bunch of shyt I wasn’t supposed to have; I’m gonna keep it real with you. A lot of shyt that his fans, if I didn’t do amazing on ‘em, they would’ve been like, ‘Why did you waste this shyt?’ So I had to dig in my bag and really get busy.”
