Just curious, what exactly was he busy with as far as his filming schedule? Smashing Machine was filmed after Mania in 2024. Same with the live action Moana movie, which wrapped nearly a year ago. Jumanji movie just started filming. His production company doesn’t have any TV projects at the moment, don’t believe Fast 11 has started filming.
This year exposing Dwayne's shelf life, in which Dwayne is too prideful to admit that his brand is toxic at the. Black Adam killed the Snyderverse. The Smashing Machine was just Rock in makeup, but same acting skills. He came back as the Final Boss, but that was a bad decision because Cody should have gone over Roman the previous year... and it ended up with a overproduced WrestleMania... only come back the next year, but this time have Travis Scott costing Cody the title.
Yeah he still has a name, but Dwayne's brand in the 2020's is much lower than in the 2010's.
Especially since Cena and Batista are making names for themselves post-retirement.

One thing is for sure...there is alot of undercover hatred for this man either way. I guess since he lasted the longest out of all his peers that it was only right that people would wish for his downfall. Thing is...he could of stopped working and appearing years ago...all of this was always extra credit and it's because they didn't know how to create draws on their own. And no...Roman is no huge draw or they wouldn't have ran to Lesnar yet again. They made attempts with Rhea, Cody, Gunther, Becky, bringing Cena back...all that failed. It's sad.

Everyone is just speculating about why he wasn’t involved with the Cena heel run, but at the end of the day it’s up to creative to come up with something, whether or not they need to pivot. The creative team couldn’t do anything good with what they had.
I would doubt that. Rock is on the Board. He can tell Creative to kick rocks and just do what what he wanted to do.

Reread the post. Of course he can disagree with what creative wanted to do with him involved, but it’s still falls on the creative team to pivot and find something that works without Rock.
I don’t even like Cena as a wrestler (I like him in film), but the way this has been handled since Feb is pretty much disrespectful and just bad TV all-around.
Rock not being around killed any and all momentum, the booking, lack of skill and shytty storytelling has been hard to watch and there’s no way this isn’t HHH’s fault.
He really thinks he’s like the President Trump of WWE in all types of ways. If the leadership is really going to keep him around, they might as well lean into his horrible work and self-absorbed personality by weaving him into the storytelling like a new-age Vince.
That could help big time and seem like it’s breaking kayfabe in a way. There’s something there and it’s probably the only way to save the shyt right now.

In retrospect, Cody should’ve turned heel, aligned himself with The Rock, 2-3 other main event level heels (Scratch off Travis Scott) and then have a babyface Cena feud against both Rock and Cody on some DBZ save the WWE universe type shyt where Cena will have to align with Punk, LA Knight, Roman (they would likely go with Jey USO) and now you have a major war games match with 8 months plus of storylines, animosity and etc.Blame the writers and Cripple H. The Rock dont write shyt. He wanted Cody to turn heel ..they didnt go his direction..so it was sink or swim. Obviously Cena and Cripple H dont know how to pivot. Tough shyt

Cena is Cena so he’s gonna be meaningful and impactful regardless but they could’ve gotten so much more out of him and he would’ve went out with a more consistent, memorable story.
I’m just spitballing nh but HHH seemed to fell asleep behind the wheel after Elimination Chamber and The Rock being egotistical in his own way while HHH is also? They both did damage and are responsible for the hot streak ending creatively.
HHH has done more damage since he’s in charge of creative but this entire year has been a complete mixbag for the WWE. 2025 reminds me a lot of WWF 1999 after the boom period/excellent year in 1998.

If Marty is co-signing Rock, this says something. He’s capable of actually being a solid actor. Haven’t seen Smashing Machine yet, but his acting in Southland Tales always stood out to me.
Marks will forever be mad because he “ruined” Cena’s heel run.

No one will be able to answer this question for you. Because no one knows. The rock has said
1. He was at home watching mania on tv
2. His schedule is never an issue because he controls his schedule
3. None of those films had started production yet
He made a decision and knew not to have them announce it because he knew it was a bad idea. He pulled a hoe move and backed out because he didn’t get his way. HHH didn’t have a better idea because this wasn’t his story and probably didn’t care to come up with a better plan. Once the heel heat was dying down they went back with the original plan of letting Cena play the hits one more time.
As a result A whole year of main event feuds have been wasted and the rocks no 1 fan still refuses to acknowledge that his boy fukked up.
