Do you agree it’s absurd that she has three albums on this list? One in the top ten? Ranked higher than Illmatic and those other albums I mentioned?

I've already stated that I don't think Miss E or any of Missy's albums are Top 10, but it's a Rollingstone list.

Where did I say she did? My whole argument is people acting like Missy was some irrelevant artist who people just started propping. All of her albums have been critically acclaimed by the media from the jump. Ya'll were just sleep. Like I said, Wayne was out here saying Missy was his favorite rapper.

She was as far as the best emcee or albums were discussed.

You nikkas must be on crack trying to shoehorn Missy anywhere near the top list of anything hip hop related.

I can appreciate that you don’t think she has a top ten album, but do you think it’s absurd for that album to be at #7? Do you think it’s absurd for her to have three albums on the list?

Breh real time =/= all time. DMX was a lot of people's favorite rapper in real time. By 2006, people had moved on. You rarely see X in many of these Top 10 lists these days. In 1998-2001 when X was hot, you were called into question if he was left out. Now, nit so much.

In regard to Missy, people did in fact talk about Missy's album. They might not have been discussed in your circle, but they were discussed. I've NEVER had anyone offline tell me how dope Mobb Deep albums were. I discovered their .usic on my own. No knock against them, but I wouldn't say they weren't discussed just because I didn't gear or see it.

And just to put this dumb gay men and women argument to rest. There's a lot of men who listen to Missy who aren't gay. Mike Tyson had her listed in his top MC's list. As far as we know, he isn't gay. I'm not gay and I listen to Missy. There's gay men who love Mobb Deep. So what's your point. Just say you don't like Missy and keep it moving.

What kind of circles do you be around where people sit around discussing Missy’s albums?
:dame:

If a nikka brought up Missy album in a barbershop, he would be clowned to Bolivia.

You really can’t be serious right now.

The type of circles where music is discussed.

I don't expect The Booth to get it because ya'll post for days and find ways to invalidate everything. There is no middle ground and God forbid someone having a different opinion.

If I don't think she has a Top 10 album, why are you asking if I think it's absurd that she has an album at #7?

I don't think it's absurd for her to have three albums on a list of Top 200 albums. For one, I couldn't sit around and compile a list of Top 200 albums and even if I did, Missy having three albums on a list of 200 albums isn't a reach especially the three albums that made the list. Personally, only Supa Dupa Fly and Miss E... So Addictive would have been on my list. Supa Dupa Fly would've been Top 100. Miss E would've been 150-200. I like Miss E... more, but Supa Dupa Fly was far more impactful.

Because there is a big difference between disagreeing with a plausible opinion and finding the opinion absurd.

For example, I might disagree that Doggystyle is a top ten album, but I don’t think it’s absurd for someone to rank it that high.
I might think Infamous should be ranked higher than Doggystyle, but I don’t think it’s absurd for someone to disagree.
Any Missy album in the top ten is absurd.
A Missy album ranked higher than those albums I mentioned is absurd.

If I disagree with the opinion, then I disagree with the opinion. Finding it absurd is a matter of semantics. If I don't think an album should rank that high, then I don't think it should rank that high.

What's crazy is the whole sentiment that a "Missy album" shouldn't rank that high and not naming the albums. If you haven't listened to the albums, you don't really have a valid opinion either way. Why? Because you don't like Missy, you're dismissing her work and making it about Missy and not the music.

Missy is still a rapper. You're not going to hear Missy's name come up like that because she's not lyrical. It's the same reason you don't really see names like Busta talked about.

Nobody looks at Missy like no Michael Bivins. That's a gigantic reach if I ever seen one.

Busta Rhymes isn't "lyrical"? huh? No one ever said that... I don't even get the comparison with Busta and Missy outside of their videos being "visually innovative."

Missy Elliot was definitely seen in the same bracket as RnB artist that mixed rap in like TLC, Romeo from Immature, Mr Davin, etc and any other "rapper" that came from RnB that no one in hip hop was checking for. Missy Elliot was not getting no play on any hip hop oriented radio show... Not on any college radio I listened to or any of KMEL hip hop shows in the 90's.

The only people that were bringing her up in rap discussions when I was in high school and college were casual music fans who didn't know how to differentiate between pop, rap and RnB.

People say Busta Rhymes is lyrical, but we all know we don't see Busta Rhymes or his music discussed like we do with other lyricists. He was in a whole other lane.

And to put Missy in a bracket with Mr. Dalvin, TLC, and Romeo from Immature is laughable. This barely worth responding to. Jay Z, Nas, and Ghostface don't have songs with Dalvin, TLC or Romeo. You never saw them on Rap City unless it was a feature.

Missy Elliott got playboy Hip Hop radio. You are out of touch. She's has songs on Clue and Funkmaster Flex tapes. Come on breh.
