Rookies vs Vets Live Update/Discussion Thread

Brizz vs. Verb is pretty damn exciting of a matchup, but fukk if this isn't a critical battle for Brizz that Verb can ruin. If Verb comes 2014 lazy mode, he'll ruin the battle and ruin a shot at Brizz getting exposure from a big battle on a hyped venue. Lazy Verb loses the crowd, and unless the other nikka is completely on fire (or from NY), that excitement dies out for the other dude too. Focused Verb (I fukking hate that these are two different battles in one dude) can either make this a body or a legit classic.

The battle seems less about who wins and more about both of them landing with the crowd throughout. And Brizz, as fun as he is to watch in the small rooms, runs a big risk of falling flat. His actual bars are B-... it's all aggression. Not sure if the fans are going allow for another Hitman at this point in battle rap.

When I pictured a rookie vs vets card like a year ago.. I thought Id see nikkas like like verb, Hitman, rex, math and clips vs nikkas like myers, ty law and prez. Leave it to URl to give me something like TODD vs prep.

I can't give most of the blame to URL on this one and leave it mostly on the battlers. "y'all dont do cyphers" "y'all didn't go what we went through" "y'all not on other leagues" because these nikkas don't have to do what they did to come up off battle rap, the times are different

just excuse after excuse to have that top tier circle jerk they've been having the past 3 years

First off, Real Deal's "Rebuttal" was hilarious. Real Deal is good at battling, but once he steps off stage you forget about him quickly. He lacks identity as an entertainer, zero standout qualities.

They kept saying on that War Report episode that there are two Rookies vs Vets cards. Are they talkin about two separate events (within a similar time or like this spring this fall), a two day thing or what?

Bill Collector vs Ty Law is confirmed to be going down. But i heard this is just a one off and not part of a second card

Also Real Deal has Sno im hearing.

But if the way i worded it was confusing, on ig Norbes posted Verbs new mixtape and said he's one of the greatest musicians he knows.
