Mal’s logic is flawed af for what it’s worth (like a lot of his arguments).

The chemistry of the podcast improved when he joined, true.

But the popularity of the podcast, the audience they pulled in, that was definitely Joe. Joe the rapper. Joe the failed rapper doing fan meetups to play kickball. Joe the failed rapper turned reality star getting sucker punched on camera. Joe the grumpy old man screaming on everyone at Complex and almost getting faded by the migos.

It’s not a coincidence the pod took off when he was burning down Complex.

He created the audience and their chemistry kept people tuning in. No one would have been checking for their chemistry if it wasn’t first for Joe creating interest.

just cause Mal is handling this like a real one doesn’t mean his points are more valid.

If Joe is lying about their contracts then dude is twisted. No way I can try to make any sense of anything he said after that point.
He already was trying to spin things back before they responded. That should tell you something.

That is the one part I did disagree with Mal on but he’s right about people staying for the chemistry. The retention is important

"I don't care about money. This aint about money"
"I'm not taking my friends to court. I'm not auditing my friend"
"fukk the money, fukk the podcast, you aint gonna try to make me look like a nut ass nikka. It's all about respect"
"I told them I don't want the money, give it to the other guys on the crew"
"I told him fine, lets do the show for free, its about the friendship"

These are all quotes that these guys said in this video, and these are just the ones I remember. Bro...what world are they living in?!?

If you're trying to be the best friend in your treehouse crew in 3rd grade then you should follow these quotes. In multi-million/billion dollar business tho, wtf are these dudes talking about?! Corporate is dirtier than the dope game. There are no ethics, no morals, etc... in big business. There's a reason most friends/family that go into business together usually fail miserably, it's too confusing and ill-advised to blend Personal and Business. shyt, Nino Brown taught us that, you'd think these two gangster movie/rap music fantasy honor code having ass dudes would understand that, lol

Think about it, Budden would "sue the pants off" of his friends, will continue to produce a show without his friends if they leave to keep business flowing, will deny them access to the books so he can keep them in the dark on how much the podcast makes, and will publicly lie and ridicule them to make himself look good and them look bad...Rory and Mal, on the other hand, won't take their friends to court, "don't care" about money or the podcast (even though they said the issue is they're percentage earners, not salary earners, and need access to the books so they know how and how much they should be getting compensated off of the podcast. Sounds like they care), and honor their friendship more than business. SMH! How can't they/everyone see that they're operating at a disadvantage??? It's like they're playing basketball by the rules and trying to beat someone who is travelling, double dribbling, making his basket bigger, goaltending, using steroids and wearing a jetpack...in a NO RULES game... you trying to play by the rules with a dude who only cares about winning by any means, shyt is kind of sad.

Integrity is for idiots to Corporate bro, believe that, that's that bullshyt you only act like you're about to the consumers to get them to like you and support (spend). I feel bad for Rory and Mal because I can tell they're good people, and I believe them 1000%...but I think they're more suited for 9 to 5's...or just being hanger on's or sumn. Budden morphed into a shark/snake...he used yall fans thinking he was anti-industry and trying to fight the good fight to become what he always wanted to be, industry af and rub shoulders with the dudes yall woulda thought he hated, lol.

Ehhh neither Rory or mal would have made anything close to this money in this period of time without being into business with joe budden.

if any of us on here was told we could make like 400k a year fukking with a pod with joe budden, I sure almost 99% would sign up. fukking 6 hours a week at most lol.
and we wouldn't have wanted business any deeper than that because we know how destructive Joe is, right?

that's all im saying the mistake was, they literally in the vid sayin damn i didn't think he would do it to me :francis: why not? nikka has done this with literally everyone we've seen him next to

Not sure if I missed it, but do we know why Rory and Mal didn’t have access to the accounting in the first place...if they were profit partners and Rory was paying for the wealth management firm’s service?

Is it simply because Joe is/was a majority shareholder? How does Ian seem to have access then?

If their chemistry kept people tuning in, doesn't that mean Mal and Rory had some type of value :jbhmm:

This type of talk is why alot of people in business get screwed over. Because allows the "stars" to continue devaluing the others involved because they're just "role players". Mal and Rory know that Joe is the star of the show. Mal reiterated that, he's not stupid to think otherwise. But they still hold some sort of value and should be compensated accordingly
