This type of talk is why alot of people in business get screwed over. Because allows the "stars" to continue devaluing the others involved because they're just "role players". Mal and Rory know that Joe is the star of the show. Mal reiterated that, he's not stupid to think otherwise. But they still hold some sort of value and should be compensated accordingly

Mal let lil shyt fester. Homey took offense to Joe saying the he had fans lined around the block at a show. So instead of just laughing that off he felt offended over something so petty.

I kinda feel bad for them because tehy stood on this ledge and they getting praise from their industry friends to doing all this but a couple of weeks from now, what does it all mean?

In the end joe is getting a bigger slice of the pie, and rory and mal gonna be out there without these extra checks for realistically 6 hours of bullshytting on parks couch. Easiest job in the world, a complete lay up of a bag. From the sound of it, that Patreon check rory got sounded massive so I mean, yeah, joes a crackhead and probably getting a bigger cut than he’s supposed to but when you look at the bigger picture rory and mal holding a huge L over this.

Even if they were only getting 100k a year, thats a part time job, nikkas can stack that shyt, invest it and do whatever. I’m sure they would have eventually went back on tour and did all that stuff again also.

Good lord you’d be the easiest nikka to roll over in a negotiation. If you’re sharing a % of the profits why would you be happy with anything less than you’re owed? Just to be grateful? That’s sucka shyt

but I’m not arguing that they don’t have value. They clearly do. And a lot of the other points they were making… well I hope joe has better answers than the ones he’s been pulling so far.

but when it comes to this specific point, he’s way off. and he’s devaluing Joe’s impact on their success to make his point. That’s the problem, imo. Ironically it’s the same thing you’re (accurately) accusing stars of doing. again, Mal is kind of getting a pass on it because joe looks like a sleaze bag and a psychopath right now. But he’s wrong.

There is a clear evolution you can follow when it comes to Joe’s podcast success. Mal and Rory definitely factor into that. But a LOT of it also comes down to Joe. There’s a reason people had been trying to get him to do radio for years. He’s really fukking good at it.

now sit and think about what was the difference between the podcast and those other ventures

Joe Budden HIMSELF said podcasting is more than just giving a celebrity a microphone and letting them talk . It’s like nikkas forgot he clowned Spotify for the Obama/Conan/Random White female celebrity podcasts Spotify was churning out . Major celebrity shyt flops all the time


Did Joe Budden celebrity help ? Sure but to act like it was the major selling point is a lie . I never listened to or gave a fukk about a Joe Budden album or mixtape and can careless about his celebrity but the podcast was crack in its prime due to the three of them.
