He did them a solid if this is in fact true.

They knew how to get fans on their sides and to get sympathy. Everything they did and said during their show was calculated.

It is easy to make Joe out to be the bad guy.

Whether or not he is "overpaying" them isn't really the point though, is it? Their issue isn't that they feel undercompensated, it's that there is no transparency.

You can't sign a contract that pays a % of $ coming in and then be mad when the person asks to see the breakdown. Frankly, a proper business, he shouldn't have to ask. With each pay should come a statement with the breakdown.

I work in a job that is salary and a commission and I get a detailed commission statement with each monthly commission payout.

Granted, totally different industries, but the basic principle applies. If my pay was just an arbitrary # and they told me to do the math on my own,, well, no legitimate business of any kind would operate that way.

I'm sure Vimeo takes a decent split, plus whatever the cost of using that studio and the production costs.

But I'd bet they'll get a nice six figure check outta this when it's all said and done, which sounds like more than they made for a full year on the JBP

From the tone Mal took I see no scenario where they ever are able to do a show together again. But life can be funny so who knows.
