So size of body of work is an issue with Big Pun and Big L but not with Biggie?

First Rosenberg says somebody doesnt has that size of body of work and then later says size of body of work doesn't matter it's about the quality?

Wayne has no place on a top 10 list DOA, Kendrick does not belong there yet. we're talking ALL TIME here. i would say BIG & Pac don't need to be on these type of lists, they are in their own, they're on these lists by default.

Lauryn Hill doesn't have the catalogue to deserve a place in the top 10, if you were talking female MC's only then yeah but i think they put her on there just to have a female MC.

Biggie's body of work is far more influential & impactful than Pun's 1.5 albums he made while alive. Pun used some of Biggie's formula to make his songs as far as the crossover appeal, etc

I'm a really big Kendrick fan, and shyt, I think he's actually better than Cole (I don't think bigger, but better). Maybe not by a lot, but enough.

But Rosenberg's passionate and blind allegiance to that whole camp and to Kendrick is uncomfortable, and really does his opinion a disservice.

You can really tell (not just from this interview, but others as well) that his "insider" status and place as somewhat of a tastemaker has gone to his head.

And with that being said...

Neither of the two should be on the list.

Yet.

Man you got cats on here who swear cacs love pac and yes, there are some that do love him absolutely, but there are also a lot that don't like him. Do yall forget how much they hated him when was alive? When he got killed a lot of them were on some good riddance type of stuff. shyt I remember watching dont be menace they had a list of top 5 hated blacks in america OJ, and Pac were on there shyt was funny, but true :pachaha:

The billboard list doesn't surprise me. A lot of these new age hipster don't like Pac at all. Albums like Makaveli and 2pacalypse are too pro black for them. Doesn't make them feel comfortable :pachaha:

Agreed Cacs and hatin ass eastcoast nikkas can try to rewrite history, but the streets will always love Pac :blessed:
Yeah cacs seemed to gravitate towards biggie or those sherm smoking wu tang artists. Pac was the face of the quintessential young black male in urban America and he had a voice and a plan. Dynamic as hell like brehs, from Brendas Got a Baby, to Dear Mama, to Hit eM Up, Keep Ya Head Up, I Get Around and club tracks like California Love. I am tearing up as I type this...I will stop now. Hit Em Up is still one of my go to tracks when I need to kick in a door.

Cry foul about why 2pac aint there but nobody doesnt ask why Scarface & Ice Cube aint there, lmao.

No doubt they belong, but I've seen tons of top 5-10 lists without them on it, particularly top 5's, but i don't think i've ever seen one without 2pac, shyt is just clear personal distaste from whoever made this shyt. People are giving this shyt too much attention and relevance though, in essence this weirdo who made the list is saying Kendrick Lamar and Lil Wayne (and Lauryn Hill, lol, she was a beast but she's been MIA for how long?) are greater than 2pac, Cube, Face, Common Sense, LL, Redman, etc... i don't think something so dumb even warrants attention. and, squeezing Rakim on there sticks out like a sore thumb, they just did that cause they thought it'd add some sort of credibility because he's from the 80's and people mention him on message forums, lol, bet whatever that they never heard a rakim album.

The real truth is that biggies number one with 2 albums:stopitslime:

How many albums Pac got:stopitslime:

Kendrick but no Drake or Cole:stopitslime:

Eminem but not Redman or Ludacris:stopitslime:

These lists:snoop:

Its usually easier to point out what they did right but in this case....im just genuinely confused.

:pacspit::pacspit:
Drake can't be on a top 10 list after the Quentin Miller incident.

It's disrespectful to everyone who doesn't do that, if we gonna let dudes that have ghostwriters on top 10 we gotta give the Dr Dre's, Puff Daddy's and Will Smiths there shine on these top 10 list as well.

to leave Pac off the list you have to have some sort of agenda, there's no way you can wrestle with "hmmm, should pac be on a top 10 list of best rappers ever?", obviously he's a shoo-in, so whatever white college kid or white suburban weirdo who rebelled by listening to rap music growing up made this list clearly has a personal dislike for 2pac, probably hates the pro-black theme of some of pac's songs and interviews. he deserves to get stomped out, wont happen tho cause he's white, :jbhmm:

For real. Im not a Pac nut hugger like that but dude DEFINITELY belongs on GOAT lists by default.

Even if I didn't like dude the shyt is undeniable

No tupac is laughable.

"The only say to change me is let me blow my brains out,
Stuck in the middle of the game to let the pain out,
Pray to my god everyday, but he don't listen,
The poverty bothers me, but momma still making wonders in the kitchen.
Listen I can hear her crying in her bedroom, praying for money we never think would she be dead soon.
Am I wrong for wishing I was somewhere else at 13 couldn't feed myself"

Tupac one of the few realist that tell it like it is. No codes either, straight facts.

The thing is Tupac came from pro-black surrounding and he reflected that in his music at times. His work pretty complicated, with many contradictions. It's even more complicated if you can't relate, which many people cannot. I think he meant to do good, but caught up in a lifestyle that didn't allow him to.
