i posted a picture of me in a face mask, it wasn’t on here. lots of women posts pictures of them in face masks on the internet. google it. there was zero reference or context involved that it was my attempt at mocking black people or trying to imitate a black person.
now, if there was any sort of hint of me trying to mock or imitate a black person with captions like these, i’d understand the criticism completely
in my opinion, the above is black face because the clear intent and context is referring to imitating and mocking black people

black face wasn’t just about white people wearing black paint, it was about them mocking and imitating a black caricature and pushing stereotypes against black people. that’s what made it so wrong, not the paint itself.
