I disagree

I'll give u ..7 on It's a Big Daddy Thing which was his best album

Young gifted and black
smooth operator
Wrath of Kane
I get the job done
Ain't no stopping us now
Pimpin ain't easy
Warm it up Kane

Another Victory
Mortal Combat (how you call yourself liking hardcore rap and not fukking with this:mindblown:)
Calling Mr. Welfare (maybe not for everyone, but an ill storytelling track)
Lean On Me

Album is crack cocaine save 2 or 3 songs, and they weren't terrible.

I'm only feeling maybe 5 other songs from all other albums

Cuz I can do it right
It's hard being the Kane
Raw
Set it off
Ain't no half stepping

To me ^^ that's his whole career

Long Live The Kane
Just Rhymin' With Biz
Dance With The Devil
No Damn Good
Mr. Pitiful
Come On Down
Looks Like A Job For
How U Get A Record Deal
Stop Shamming
Rest In Peace
nikkaz Never Learn
'Nuff Respect Remix
Show And Prove (featuring your mans rapping like The Fu Schnickens:mjlol:)
Uncut Pure and the remix
La-La-Land
Terra N Ya Era
Unda Presha

All ranging from good to fire. Then there are the guest spots and loosies

The Symphony (no explanation needed, or you're an idiot)
Burn Hollywood Burn
Jurassic 5 (smoked everyone but Percee P)
Little Brother (killed it)
The Man The Icon (fire)
Platinum Plus (fire)
Don't Curse
Next Up w/UGK and Kool G Rap
Macula's Theory
Class of 87 w/ KRS and Kool G Rap
5 Deadly Venous w/ Kay Slay
Cameo Afro w/ RZA
Mega Freah X w/Cormega
Young Black With A Gift w/Rapsody (killed it)
One Foot In The Door w/Saigon (bodied it, 2014!)
Kill At Will: The Final Chapter w/ Joell Ortiz (smashed Wrath Of Kane again, 2016)

Revisiting his catalog, Veteranz Day had some dope shyt on it. Kane decided to tour and eat off his classics instead of keeping up with whatever nikkas were doing, but he never really fell off. If he gave a shyt and had the proper resources, including a good Executive Producer to steer him, he could still go at 50 whatever he is. No Kane slander will be tolerated over here.

I'll take KRS one & Ice Cube over Kane

and Jay z over all of them

That's your opinion and I respect that. I have Cube over Kane only on discography and Kane over KRS, though I'm not mad at anyone who has him over Kane. They are both top 15 at worst IMO, more like top 10 probably. No idea where I rank Jay. I just never got into his music, especially as he got more and more commercial. I like most of RD, and 1 or 2 songs off some of his other albums. Tried to listen to his discography, couldn't do it :manny:

EDIT: Forgot the Enough joint from last year. STILL dope in 2020.

What’s so funny? Them 2 nikkas was still blazing hot during the 90s and even a bit of the early 00s. G Rap had his dna literally all thru the 90s with most of the best rappers of that time. Ra would pop in and out but nothing consistent and I’m saying this as someone who KNOWS Rakim.

Thats irrelevant when in regards to fans of dude from jump, Ra has been all over the place lately right now, from netflix shows (luke cage), book runs/promo, to even soundtracks, and breh is still touring selling tickets. Everytime i see him here in the D the house is packed. G Rap and Kris arent getting that kind of attention. They also arent as nice/sharp as Ra is right now too.

Look. I’m not talking about right now. I’m talking over the years. Yes Ra is getting love now over the other 2. But over the course of the years. There is no disputing this shyt. KRS and G Rap was on the scene active all throughout the 90s. Droppin classic songs and verses. Ra fell back. He was inconsistent. It is what it is. And G Rap is just as sharp as ever u buggin tf out. nikka just dropped some shyt with 38 Spesh recently.

You both sound like you know the deal when it comes to Kane so I feel you're the right people to ask.

Ashamedly I haven't heard a Kane album front to back. Just several singles and features.

What do you feel are his top 5 albums to check? To get a correct intro to his work?

G.Rap is bro. I agree with you on everything except that. The way G rhymes and delivers will never sound dated, it's impossible. That rapid fire, compound multis shyt is everlasting for dope rappers, and he is arguably the template for that.

He only has 7, so I would listen to all of them in chronological order.

I would rank them:

1. It's A Big Daddy Thing
2. Long Live The Kane
3. Taste Of Chocolate
4. Looks Like A Job For...
5. Veteranz Day
6. Daddy's Home
7. Prince Of Darkness

Dope, and thank you for ranking them.

That era he debuted in 1988 - the crime rate was very high in Toronto. I was 7 and it just felt more dangerous.

That's another reason why what Royce said actually made me a bit angry. Royce debuted around 1997 I believe. A dope but way more safe era.

Royce needs to appologize I feel.

He didn't have to say that.

This disrespect, or disacknowledgement G Rap gets is insane. He's kept a sharp pen for 30 something years.

From the conversation I'm going to defer to Triple Agent because he's more of a Kane advocate then I am.. especially when it comes to the albums released after 1993 which I'm not a big fan of

To me
1) It's a Big Daddy Thing
2) Long Live the Kane
3) Taste of Chocolate

And personally to the bushes with everything else..
With the exception of the collabs & features that Triple posted earlier

G Rap will forever be dope. His later shyt (post Roots of Evil...arguably his peak, btw) isn't as good :manny:. He's a GOAT caliber emcee and still sharp but sounds more in line (lyrically and content-wise) with a Jadakiss, Fred Da Godson (RIP) or 2000s era mixtape rapper.
