I see you one those lyrical miracles nerds.. he could be the dopest rapper in the world and he still a white dikk eating racist defending c00n bytch..Royce look like he keep foolish pride on repeat on some “Yeah Em you right! From the conversation I'm going to defer to Triple Agent because he's more of a Kane advocate then I am.. especially when it comes to the albums released after 1993 which I'm not a big fan of

To me
1) It's a Big Daddy Thing
2) Long Live the Kane
3) Taste of Chocolate

And personally to the bushes with everything else..
With the exception of the collabs & features that Triple posted earlier

Thank you so much four input! I'm going to check out those albums. His early album artwork is pretty classic as well I find. Being actually dope but having that image of wealth with the girls, limo and palm trees. He actually had the skill behind that image.

It's one reason why people see the obvious influence that Kane had on the styles on Biggie & Jayz

Guys like Slick Rick , Big Daddy Kane and Grandmaster Caz from the Cold Crush bros before them can be seen as the fathers of that style
That they perfected and took to a new level

Rapping about girls, money & being fly

I believe it's out of respect that some people will never see the son as being greater than the father since he could not exist without those that came before him .. building upon the foundation which they created

But I disagree.. I believe the son can be greater than the father based on his own works as he is also a creator taking a baton so to speak and running farther than anyone before him ever had

It's all subjective people will lean towards their favorites like a Jordan vs Lebron debate

Both are great

And it should go without saying that what Royce said was wildly disrespectful to a legend in the game.
I like Royce but his career is like playing at the Rucker when compared to these all time greats he shouldn't even be allowed to speak on them

Thats irrelevant when in regards to fans of dude from jump, Ra has been all over the place lately right now, from netflix shows (luke cage), book runs/promo, to even soundtracks, and breh is still touring selling tickets. Everytime i see him here in the D the house is packed. G Rap and Kris arent getting that kind of attention. They also arent as nice/sharp as Ra is right now too.
G Rap nicer than Rakim in 2021

Also. Would u stand to say im wrong that KRS and G Rap had a more consistent career than Ra has since the 80s? Cause I can’t even see how it can be disputed. After 92, Ra aint have no shyt like Fast Life or Step Into A World. He ain’t have verses like G Rap’s on The Realest in the late 90s. He ain’t have a The Letter P in the early 2000s. He did have his The Watcher part 2 verse and So Addicted verse. But like I said nikka was poppin in and out while the other 2 was more consistent over time.

Absolutely. Rakim basically took half the 90s off because he was in contractual obligation to a situation he didn't want to be a part of. When he came back, he dropped fire, but from 92-97 he largely silent minus some scattered songs

While G Rap and KRS consistently dropped great projects all the way up into the early 2000s.

Exactly I know personally what Ra was dealing with and nikkas ain’t gonna talk their way out of it with me. Lol. He did drop fire. But even with that. He wasn’t a FACTOR like the other 2 ESPECIALLY G Rap. shyt don’t get it twisted I fukk wit both 18th Letter and The Master heavy and Guess Who’s Back and When I Be On The Mic some of my fav tracks of all time. But KRS and G Rap had the streets in them years.

Rakim is so near & dear to everyone's heart that you gonna have people fighting to the death to hold on to his reverence in the game

He was the biggest dude during the biggest time

I ain't no joke.. it's like catching the biggest wave from the middle of the ocean and riding that bish all the way to the shore.
I really wish he & Kane had a real battle in '88 - '89
I always felt Kane could've got him

But anyway... you have a valid legit point that KRS & G-rap should probably be ranked higher since the 90s were a different story and both of them remained consistent during that time

So if we're gonna look at the totality of their careers they should be higher than him

But nobody will agree with that .. the highest high is what resonates with people the most.. That's what will be the lasting memory.

Not the consistency over a longer period of time
