they were TRYING to cut thier LOSSES...but UNIVERSAL got fukked seriously...when they won the BID to purchase EMI....which would have gave them nearly half the market share in music ....

Warner went "crying" to the regulators over at the EU (european union) about how this violate free trade practices and basically limits the options offered to consumers.

So the EU made Warner submit to certain "concessions" such as the fact that they would only be able to purchase EMI on the condition that they sell off a few notable assets of EMI (catalog divisions) and also that it could not obtain any favorable DIGITAL DEALS for the NEXT TEN YEARS...which basically won't be able to compete against Google, Apple, as well as Sony and Warner which is making inroads with it's looming deals with Youtube and other media outlets.

SO UNIVERSAL GOT FUKKED OVER

Also in the bidding for the EMI catalogs purchased by UNIVERSAL is a three headed investment team headed by Lord Jacob ROTHSCHILD (he makes jay-z money look like beer money)....Chris Blackwell (owner of the Bob Marley Catalog, founder of Island Records) and the Billionaire Ronald "fukking" Perlman..

Word is UNIVERSAL will have no choice but to cave into a hostile takeover by the "three pronged monster" or a more civlized "murking" by the Russian Tyc00n over at Warner.

If you wanted to start Coca Cola Films, if you had a different logo you might, but since Coca Cola was at one point in the film industry working with Columbia Pictures, you might not be able to use it.
