(Rumour) Big changes to Gamepass, including a free/cheaper tier with ads

Sony definitely makes the best games, but they aren't showing up on PS+ until a year later. And they're only dropping 1-2 games a year now anyways.

Most of the games I listed (and a lot more that I missed) are launching day 1 on Game Pass.

Game Pass was mostly trash the entire generation, but we can't deny they're finally getting great games the last year and change (multiple GOTY candidates). We also can't act like Sony is flooding the market with games when their output has slowed down dramatically.

They said 75+ games are coming day 1 to the service next year too. We already know Forza, Halo, Fable and Gears are among them.

The reality is it’s probably still too cheap even now. But I don’t want to pay an extra 10 dollars if I don’t have to so hopefully enough people cancel to make them walk it back

PlayStation is getting many first time gamers coming from the award winning last of us on hbo. As well as blockbuster films like uncharted and gran turismo which made hundreds of millions at the box office.

It’s a pipeline from Netflix to PlayStation why would they get game pass??

Game pass is good for hardcore gamers saving money on games but these hardcore players make up a very small portion of the community, which is why Xbox has to whore it’s IPs out to actually gaming systems.

I think MS is aware that more people are subscribing just for specific releases and not for the entire year and they're trying to re-calibrate the business for that.

This is the point most of us are making. It’s not sustainable at a super low price unless they are getting membership boosts.

They’re going to either raise the pricing, or cut back in game development/budgets

Neither is set in stone, but the way things have been going it’s looking more and more likely

the standard (disc) PS5 was profitable before it hit a year. that's why them shyts are 500. The 300 and 400 days been gone.

Ps5 launched at $399 digital and $499 for the disc drive. They currently sell for $499 and $549, and thats with revisions to cut down development cost.


Trump's economy fukked everything up. If Sony's digital console is selling for a profit, its probably because the price went up $100 since launch.
