Watched this last night. I really enjoyed it. Michael B did his thing and I’m not typically the biggest fan.

Coogler is goated though, nikka can do anything. Need to give us a black space movie or something next :russ:

MBJ is charismatic but I always felt he was an average actor. He really stepped him game up for this movie, that was great acting.

Yea to me he has a pocket or a very narrow range that he usually lives in and in certain cases he does well in that range.

I feel like fruitvale was an example of he acting well but in that pocket.

This forced him to push the limits of that range and he held it down.

Anybody mention how Delroy Lindo must be a real life vampire himself?

Dude literally hasn't aged in decades.

Not really, Brits get roles because they are cheaper.
The US gives them a cutout in SAG rates that they exploit.
This is why you see them in American film, doing generic accents, and being over praised by the media.

They do shytty american accents, they use wrong terminology in film, like saying the boot when they are supposed to be americans and the editors letting it stay in.

There is only one UK actor that does American exceptionally well and thats Delroy Lindo. They rearely praise him for how good he does his american accents, but give praise for jude law, micheal caine, and etc when they do shytty antiquated southern accents or "western" accents. lol

The two gay guys from Atlanta, paperboi and the weirdo guy are excellent actors and do great accents, but they are eccentrics.

You don't know enough about american accents to know that Daniel Day Lewis was cartoonish
and the other two did generic midwest accents, not the regional dialects they would actually have.

No its a good thing Idris didn't even try to go regional. Even then him and the guy who played mcnulty would break accent and occasionally say words in their native accent.

DDL was as bostonians as they come, in a movie where he is supposed to be a New Yorker. Thanks for proving my point.
