Yea and they had to pitch this movie around Hollywood. Some serious buyers might not have signed off on JM. Not to mention some studios might have tried to low ball them.

Coogler gets the rights to this movie 25 years from and couldn't take that chance. Plus MBJ gotta expand his brand. Maybe bring him into the fold if this does well and they make a sequel.
