When one talks about the relations between "Irish" and "Blacks" in the USA, they have to be specific. Are they talking colonial era Virginia, pre-Civil War North & South, post-Civil War North/South, rural-backwoods etc...
Is that Thomas sowell “ blacks learned degeneracy/took upon degeneracy from the celts-cap

yeah, controversial as it is, the ghetto Celtic culture was forced on black people during slavery and perpetuated after. If a black person tried to separate from that they were punished and put down. Happened all the way up until recent times.

as diverse as Black American culture is, it's the odious parts of the Celtic dimension(unlabled and derived from down south) that seems to be projected and posted on media the most..
Not true at all…

Depends what Irish. East coast Irish? No, probably the worst cacs on the planet. Attempted to genocide us during the civil war and had to have the Union army called up to shoot them to get them to stop.

Then they largely joined the police force and were used as shock troops. Boston was probably the most racist city in the north until recently.

Irish elsewhere? They can range from allies to neutral. Wouldn’t doubt that Irish Catholics in the south saw common cause with Blacks but I’d need to see more research.

Facts.

From the South, my last name is straight Irish.

Mom's maiden name is an old Scottish clan name.

Murphy
Brown
Lynch
Moore
Hughes
Thompson
Hayes

Lotta Black folks got these names and some of the DNA (through rape) too.
A lot of the largest plantation owners in America were Scots-Irish. Why? Because Scots-Irish ran plantations in Ireland so it was natural for them to bring that system here.

There is a huge difference between Irish Catholics who were an under class in Ireland to Scots Irish Protestants who were the ruling class and made up a huge percentage of the ruling class throughout the British empire.

Bmore stand up!
I’m not sure if I agree with him wholeheartedly…

BUT I will say, Irish and black has been virtually thee most common interracial mix out there historically…

Irish and black have mated, married and procreated with each other A LOT going back centuries… and no, it wasn’t always rape neither… many times it was consensual…

sometimes Irish felt like they related to blacks a bit due to the fact Irish used to be heavily discriminated against up until the 1900’s despite them being white because of their country’s history….

They were never treated as harshly as blacks obviously… not even on the same playing field…. Don’t get it twisted
:whoa:

I remember learning I had quite a bit of Irish ancestry on both my mother and fathers sides of the fam going back several generations…. I’m still like 80-90% black but yeah them Irish folks loved the men in my ancestry and from what I heard from my elders, it wasn’t a result of rape nor slavery. There was actual love and marriages involved

:manny:

So I’m not gonna shyt on Coogler For saying what he said and I don’t think he was pandering or c00ning I think he just didn’t word nor explain this well…. Her didn’t do a good job communicating his point
