Miami had a balance when Raider Klan was out.

He is right that Atlanta’s current music scene caters to strippers, crash outs , and tricks

Which it shouldn’t have to be as the city has a wealth of black history and accolades that can be articulated over a nice instrumental

Exactly. The fact that this city went the Gucci Mane route instead of the Dungeon Family route given its rich history and strong middle class is very disappointing.

I don’t even care about the content of the art all that much as much as I care about the quality. My biggest gripe with Atlanta is the way the artists and most consumers lack a reverence for art form. You can still make ignant gangsta music, but at high quality.

For example, The content of this song is very ignorant, but the craftsmanship and artistic quality is top notch. :banderas:

Jay-Z running to hop on Juvenile’s HA remix for a buzz highlights that the South would have been major with our without NYC’s stamp.

Thinking that either the West or East Coast can fully gate keep what music people like, represents an elitism that puts them further out of touch rather than being embraced / revered in the way old heads like RZA feel they should be.

muhfukkas just be talking and saying shyt that sound good with no connection to reality ….. Sunz of Man (:russ:) wasn’t holding on to any radio play real estate that needed freeing up for Cash Money and No Limit to do what they did…by the time NYC radio would finally gave them a chance

1. Both labels had already forced their way into game independently and were going gold and platinum without relaying on radio period, let alone NYC radio

2. Wu had already lost local cultural market share to other movements in their backyard, never mind what was happening 1000 miles away in the south. In a world with Make ‘em Say Ugh not getting radio play, Puff Daddy and Mase just get more spins….no Back Dat Azz Up just means more Ruff Ryders, not random cuts from Immobilarity getting put into rotation
Wu got banned from NYC radio.... Not the offshoots... The main group AND all the offshoots

It's almost like y'all wasn't outside

No Limit & Cash Money were gonna explode on the scene no matter what lol. Wu-Tang didn't have shyt to do with that :mjlol:

Oh and I remember when RZA disrespected the South before too. He don't want them problems:mjpls:
I remember too... HE SAID EXACTLY THE SAME THING HERE.. About the books and them not having access to education. These are the EXACT same quotes from when he said it in the source and caught flak. I remember some south nikkas (might have been banner) saying that yea they didn't have the books but if the electricity went out, could up north nikkas grow their own food?

So I immediately noticed that RZA never learned that lesson, even after apologizing, because he's telling the same story now, 20 some years later... look it up

:dead: Wu stopped making records people gave a fukk about. Ghost held on until bulletproof wallets.
What you are saying is your opinion.... What RZA and I was talking about is facts.. They were banned. Now why would you need to be banned if they weren't playing your shyt in the first place?

And the ban came in 97.... That was double plat wu tang forever time... So literally, at their height, they wasn't allowed on their home radio.. Master P didn't blow up till 98...

Wu infighting minimized the Wu and the infighting was all the members being a$$holes towards RZA and RZA just going::hubie:

Even NOW the WU could still be making albums but Rae, UGOD specifically but even Ghost and Meth half way be on some 2face type shyt.

I use to think RZA was the problem cause the Rae, UGod, Ghost, and Meth would do press and make comments like RZA was the problem but years later the real issues came out and it literally was them. And the whole time RZA just kept quiet to keep peace and not fire back and just did him.

And he ended up with the most success by far.

Hot 97 basically banned WU back in the day cause of Ghost and RZA begged the rest of the WU not to do that shyt but they listened to Ghost.
