They handled the situation quite well removing it immediately... I would say good on them for being intolerant of such racism.

Its one reason why when people sometime complain about a lack of black characters in other types of media I'm a little relieved. Its like if its not gonna be done right then just leave us out then. Spare me the hidden animosity and heavy handed stereotypes. That's not to say that there haven't black characters in manga/anime before that weren't cool; two that come to mind is the little girl in HxH and that blind black dude in Bleach. Hell you got black people that have a hard time writing black people nowadays. Black men more specifically imo, I've got my own theories on.

I know webtoons exist but I didn't know people were following Korean webtoons like that. Maybe its a generational thing. A lot of these young kids seem obsessed with everything with Korea. I wouldn't had known about this without OP telling me about it. But if this shyt is big with younger folks, guess appreciate for letting us know what these people think and are up to.

Korea (like a ton of asian countries if we being honest) are still FULLY in their racist/homophobic/colorist bag, never let the polite manners fool you, that's just so people have day to day peace, they talk CRAZY then hide their hands if you manage to catch em in the act.

Asia: Passive + Racist = you just have to ignore them and you'll be aight, turning up is a waste of energy cuz they gonna back down, do you and stunt on them, you WON'T know who's like that or not until you catch them slipping

vs.

USA: Aggresive + Racist = you gotta be proactive to defend yourself because people going on their way to bait and line you up if they're on that type of time

:hula:

there's a couple pockets of cities in the states that fall into the passive lane, but they're in the minority

You will run into racists everywhere. Just like a$$holes, regardless of culture or ethnicity, exists everywhere. I don't have an opinion on Koreans one way or another but I'm not going to let one racist influence my view on a whole group of people. Personally, I still judge people as individuals. Not caping, just that I'm not immediately mentally "fukk all them Koreans" because this one racist fakkit decided to draw racist comic. :yeshrug: Now if its a trend, that is another matter.

Sounds like a story written by someone who heard about foreigners from Americans and Europeans but never actually saw one.
This. It sounds like someone astroturfed /pol/ and put all the stuff there in there. Looking over the other chapters, shyt is anti-woman as fukk too. Real incel shyt. shyt is wild.

:what: i didnt' say fukk all Koreans, no shyt racists are everywhere man

im literally just explaining how they do it differently than it's seen here, as most asian racism'colorism/homophobia doesn't get spoken about here in the states, it's quite literally a trend over there but their societal norms of being cordial to strangers cover it up differently than ours :snoop:

you're not caping, just very ignorant about their culture :yeshrug: THAT was the point of my post, not using a fukking webtoon artist to spout Korean hate :mjlol:

Probably should clarify, my post was probably more just a general attitude towards the topic instead of fully a response to what you were saying despite quoting you directly. Probably should have left your response to my post out of it. I'm a bit hung over from last night, my bad. My decision-making skills at the moment aren't 100%

I'm not ignorant of their culture and fully aware of their xenophobia and racism. I was just maybe addressing the popularity among American kids as it relates to Korean webtoons. That shyt is new to me and also the thread as a whole is kind of weird because whenever I think of Americans reading Asian comics, I think of Japanese manga. I had no idea webtoons from Korea were popping like that so like the thread is implying as a black person I should feel a sort of way about people because some webcomic by some comic artist I've never heard of was a racist shyt head. It seemed like shyt if you go looking for it, you'll find it.

Lame cancelled Webtoon aside:

If you wanna read a manga with actually well made black characters check out Batuque!

Its about Capoeira. The main character is the half jap/half black Brazilian (she doesn't look like it tho) daughter of a mob boss. The author previously made one of the GOAT fictions ever with Usogui and the story is great here to. There is a massive cultural respect to Brazil and Capoeira here. The art is fukking fantastic and the black characters are very well designed.
