I don’t think it will work. We can have this conversation in another thread but Trump is a singular phenomenon who has been a public figure for over 40 years, runs as a racist disruptor, is wealthy so a segment of the population glazes him over that, and is an excellent liar. Thankfully he is also old as shyt.
We’ll have a better feel come 2026 but I don’t think it’ll work. Not to mention like I said JD has been involved with some pretty risky votes as a senate tiebreaker.
I admit most white people are stupid, but trump is too and they love him for it. JD isn’t built like that. His wife is Indian, he is legitimately weird, isn’t wealthy, went to an Ivy League college. , and maybe Gavin isn't finished being Governor. We all assume he's going to run in '28, but who knows if he wants to risk losing his governor seat for a failed attempt at the presidency.
So maybe there's more to the story for why she dropped out. The past few months, a lot of y'all thought she didn't have a chance of winning governor, but now acting like she did...
Although speaking for myself, I definitely believe she would've won, the other candidates in Cali weren't appealing, and considering she was already Cali's AG, and then being VP adds a lot to her resume, as well as being familiar with California's voters. Her track record in politics is actually better than what people give her credit for; she was long established before being Biden's VP, or even known to the general public outside of Cali, so it's not like she didn't have credible accolades in other fields of politics.

Why do assume I want her to fail? I’m just stating my opinion. I wanted Biden to drop out after his disastrous debate and knowing she was the only other option. I was rooting for her even though I am not a huge fan of hers. I would have preferred her to Trump of course. The fact is becoming the first woman President is a huge hurdle to overcome. This is really deep and also fits the angle I said before. Running again might be done for her, she might poll well in California but the republicans would move mountains to stop her based off of spite. However, she is still has high name recognition in politics could still have a career as the AG and would actually be very qualified for it.
It’s also good to start seeing more mainstream democrats admit the system is broken. That’s how you build the narrative you need in 2028.
The “system is broken” rhetoric is cheap thrills. It never “fixes” you just deal with things. At least she’s clear about not running for her own reasons.
