With Harris, Jackson & Leuer contracts I fail to compute how Dre's is the issue. He's by a million miles the hardest to replace. SVG already jerked around Stanley mins and banished Ellenson to Grand Rapids. What's gonna happen to those picks? I see a 20 win season with that trade

Andre is a mental midget that will never reach his potential. He is not worth 25 mill a year if all he can do is rebound. Pistons will need to take a step back to step forward with rebuild. If they need defense and rebounding, just take Jarrett Allen at 12. I would welcome a 20 win season if they could get out of Andre and Reggies contracts. Just play Stanley, Ellenson, and rookies significant minutes and maybe finally get top 5 pick. Leuer needs to be moved so Ellenson can get his minutes.

That was said about Whiteside too and he didn't become a useful NBA player until age 26. Drummond is 24 this month. I'd much rather have someone that can but don't, than someone that can't and won't. The last two off seasons we had cap space and that lead to "Tobias Harris is our FA signing" and signing Jon Leuer, Ish Smith & Boban a combined $25 million per year to come off the bench. Are you going to re-sign KCP and have the same salary issues or are you going to let him walk too and possibly have the worst record in the league?

You actually trust Drummond to mature . His problems right now are why he dropped in the draft to pistons in the first place. He is freakishly big and athletic guy that happens to play basketball. His scouting report from high school and college are spot on. You can't teach motor and drive.

KCP will be overpaid. If his contract goes over 20 mil a year they should let him walk.

Pistons can either stand pat as is and compete for 4-8 seed or tear it all down. I would like them to tear it down but they won't.

so van gundy needs a 3 point shooters and a rebounder on offense and defenders to funnel players to a shot blocker on defense, am i right?

If this is the case, why can't the inverse work while producing the same results? A team with 3 and D players with a big man that may not block shots. On offense a big that has more talent on offense than a dwight howard and andre drummond.

Can you even win with a big as your focal point if he can't score.

LaMarcus Aldridge, Kevin Love, brooke lopez (too late), nikola vucevic, jonas valenciunas, etc ... surrounded by a playmaking point guard and 3 and d everything else.

I know none of this is likely to happen, it's just a brain exercise. I feel like this team would be better suited for todays nba.

The biggest flaw with my idea is I can't think of a 4 who plays d and shoots 3's.
