Samoa Joe still didn't get called up to the main roster?

He probably chose to go to NXT and stay for a little bit. He's a big enough name where he could have immediately made the leap to the main roster like AJ Styles.

I think it just happened because at that time it was pretty much the go-to method for any wrestler coming from another promotion regardless of the length of their careers. You go through NXT before getting called up. The thing is that Joe pretty much exposed how pointless that is, and further emphasized by how almost dead on arrival guys like Austin Aries are in NXT while AJ Styles showed that a direct transition to the main roster can easily work.

NXT roster ain't that deep. They need established guys on NXT for obvious business reasons.

Without Joe and Nak, how the fukk are you gonna sell out events?

Roode Aries Young and the NXT/WWE name is plenty to sell a couple thousand tickets

With only Roode, Nakamura, Joe, Asuka, and maybe Itami, as stars, there's no way any of them get called up soon

NXT should be there to facilitate the two main brands. Nakamura has been wrestling in front of 400 sweaty geeks for the past six months despite the fact he'd pretty much instantly be the most over star on Raw or Smackdown and is on the wrong side of 40. It's a complete waste to have him or Joe there for so long.

They've got greedy and lost sight of what NXT is supposed to be.

It's even worse because Raw and especially Smackdown rosters are stretched very thin. Smackdown could do with a really strong heel like Joe.

I don't get why they called up Corbin and Crews over Joe though. Both could use seasoning as main eventers in NXT.

Crews more than Corbin, cause with Corbin, I at least know what kind of character he is and his motive. Outside of being a good wrestler, I know nothing else about him. Haven't seen a semblance of personality/charisma yet. Both should have been in NXT longer though

Agreed. SD honestly needs the next 3 call-ups, but based on how the WWE, has worked, Raw will get Nakamura and Joe, only for guys they already have to get shuffled down the card and ignored.

I agree with you. I think it would be foolish to have all these big star call ups go to RAW when SD needs more midcarders and main eventers. The tag team and women's division is solid though.
