graphics card always end up over priced because scarcity even by retailers, the best last gen card was released at 999 but ended up at 1200 after release, and that's the scalped price for the lastest card that's way better, so somebody upgrading won't feel too ripped off
buying 1000 for a game console that will be everywhere next month is beyond retarded

not going to be everywhere next month tho. that's why they can get away with it. Remember you couldn't walk in to really find a PS4 until the spring of 2014. The demand for the 5 is even crazier.

If you only have a couple of PS5's to sell, it makes sense to price it higher since getting rid of 2 PS5's for $1,100 each is doable. Getting rid of 1,000+ consoles at the same price is more difficult since there's a limited number of people willing to pay that much of a premium.
Having all the supply is pointless if you can't unload the stock. Each day you have the consoles costs money since that credit card interest keeps stacking.
Bulk scalpers should aim for $200 profit after factoring in eBay fees, shipping etc. Enough profit to make it worthwhile but not so much where people just say "fukk it."
Besides....this is not a limited release item. There will be more consoles made. You can't hold them because their value will drop to the retail price....and actually lower since most people would rather buy from Target, Best Buy etc.

Same. I'm catching up on PS4 games with the new PS5. Played a little Demon Souls, haven't opened Miles Morales yet and still haven't touched AC Valhalla (wife has). Playing Horizon Zero Dawn and then download God of War from the PS Plus store....might snatch Bloodborne too.
