The decision to graduate is NOT the sports program fault. Why the hell CAN'T they have both?
The NCAA gets both right now... making billions of dollars and not having to pay the students... or even graduate them.![]()

Honestly, I feel that people cape for student athletes too much.
I was a so-so athlete in high school, excellent student though. Its a choice you have to make. These are 18 year olds that in any other case we treat as adults who can enter the military, vote, and do all sorts of other things. And some of them want to pursue hours and hours of commitment to playing sports. You can't have it both ways.
Fact remains however, that people treat student athletes like damn near ambassadors. They keep letting these student athletes represent university talking positions and points on social issues and what not as if the other ACTUAL academics on those campuses don't have more to contribute.
THen when we all hear about the "I gotta help my mom out" talk, I get why many people are swayed.
But you help your mom with that degree...or going pro. The whole notion of "well people watch me play in school" means "I should be paid for every eyeball" doesn't make sense to me. Why aren't we paying high school players? I mean its literally the same thing. Its talent development in a structured atmosphere.
And I also think the utility of amateur sports needs to be valued more and held up as an institution.
I think theres reforms to be made in terms of students seeking jobs who are on athletic scholarships for example, but to claim that students deserve salaries...that makes no sense to me.
...so go pro?lets keep it a buck....
people have problems with athletes in general getting paid...
so the thought of college students potentially making more than a guy who studied accounting will always have folks hotter than fish grease
...so go pro?
Seeing as they're the ones steering these kids out of classes that actually matter and into bullshyt TV classes, yeah, they gotta bear some of the accountability. I'm all for personal responsibility, but let's not act like these schools aren't taking COMPLETE advantage of these situations. The decision to graduate is NOT the sports program fault.![]()

don't get why these players in America need to even go to college in the first place.
Just do what we do in Europe and let them just play for teams and get paid, fukk going to college if you're good enough to go pro NOW.
That 99% would ultimately be the ones paying for the players. You're a fool if you think they're touching revenue money. It's like the NY Subway. It doesn't cost $2.75 for a ride. They've functioned on half of that, but the fat cats who work there can't retire at 50 unless they touch the profits and that's a no-no.the 99% who aint athletes aint generating the revenues that make all these cacs rich and make it possible for the university to draw talent across the board, not just in athletics.
So yeah, they can pay these kids.
GTFO my face with any other bullshyt.

I am all for leagues going back to letting kids out of high school go pro...
or at least having official sanctioned minor league play where players are compensated and if deemed proficient step up to the pro's
I know people joke on you a lot on this board. But I've always recognized and appreciated your intelligence even when I don't agree with you, and I have agreed with you on certain things In the past. However, you have this habit of being purposely combative, argumentative and obtuse in order to artificially create debate. Then you position yourself on the unpopular side of said debate and try to fight your way out even though you're often, and quite blatantly WRONG. It's like you get a weird kick out of it. Then you write out your opinions eloquently with pretty good structure and dress them up in a nice package with a pretty bow, but when you pay close attention, and really read in between the lines, half of the shyt you say doesn't make any sense. But it's just executed and worded so well that some people might actually think you know what you're talking about, or believe that someone can be that blind to things that are as clear as day. It's like you're running a social (media) experiment or something. To see just how many people will engage you in debate and how long can it go on before they tap out and realize you're opinions are often dead ends. You're like a smart ass 8th grader in a lot of ways and I say that with respect. Well written statements, with little depth, conviction or sense, or research. You do this so often and you don't limit yourself to one subject. You do it with music, politics, sports, business, relationship topics, I mean everything. I just wanted to let you know that I see it. And it's weird. I recognize your intelligence, but I also recognize your games. Be better. I'm sure you're very smart and accomplished in real life. But if you're going to get on a message board, don't come here trying to keep up an act. Just be you. Whoever that is.cause 99% of everyone else is there to fukking get a degree.
They're ONLY athletes. They're not fukking super-humans.
Dudes treat athletes like goddamn royalty for some reason.
My dude...theres students out here busting ass to make honor roll and you're upset at your time management cause you chose to pursue 4 years of workouts.
...so go pro?
