Well if they can't control people in the schools then there is no hope. It's going to get ugly.
What can we do? Suspend a kid for not wearing a mask? Kick them out of class? To go where?

Yeah its going to be bad. My cousin is thinking about homeschooling his daughter since he can work from home. Not everyone is going to have that luxury.

I honestly don't see how we can get to a 'new normal' at this point, be it in schools or otherwise. The time for that was back in April and May while leadership was too busy making this a partisan issue.

Teachers are seen as expendable in our society so it stands to reason that schools will re-open. Stepping on little people is a time honored tradition in the U.S.
