It doesn't grab me, the way the best tracks of 'Oxymoron', or his earlier work to, it's a more layered, nuanced project....The production is a little difficult for me to get into, and very similar throughout, but there is a lot to like here. I love 'By Any Means', which is near perfect as far as Q songs go....I don't like E40 on 'Dope Dealer', like someone said is it possible I think he's wack and nice at the same time? 'That Part' is new to me, which urgently needs a Kanye free version, as his verse is unlistenable. At times I think Q's bars are slightly dulled on here, less personal in many spots, and lets his voice and delivery carry him, but it's not wack at all....I like 'Tookie Knows' and the Jada track too. 'Str8 Ballin' is good too, though I don't think he captured the essence of Pac's classic the way he could.....
By Any Means' just has that dark, yet kind of hopeful sound to it, a fatalistic hook and lyrics, I also get it's one of less progressive tracks on the album, but it's easily the strongest track to me, for now.
