He posted additional content on his Twitter pertaining to some of the info that was passed to him. It was originally intended to be third person up until a few years ago but that was cut with some of the other features. It is not unusual but based on the development and what the mods are saying we know why it was cut due to it just being an extra burden.
where do they say it was cut because it was a burden? they had experience making 3rd person games, plus their engine was designed for that

There is nothing to argue about the facts are it was originally a third person game and then they changed it. You obviously believe they changed it for immersion and I believe otherwise and based on what the devs are saying I believe it lends credence to what I am saying. :yeshrug:
No, that’s not even true.

When development started in 2016 it was a first person game. From the time the game ever existed in any playable form it was always 1st person.

I have had this argument with you dikk riders before but development started earlier but they went full steam all hands on deck in 2016.:comeon:
So full production started in 2016. Before that the game didn’t even have a director.

How are you talking about “cut” content? The game didn’t even really exist at that point. Just plans and ideas.

anthem sold 13 million and ended up one of the highest sellin games of the year?:jbhmm:

If Anthem had got the treatment from the media that Cyberpunk did it would have. Bioware/EA shot themselves in the foot by releasing a demo. The videos itself before it dropped weren't interesting, but playing the game itself completely turned me off.

I'm not paying for a Bloomberg subscription to read the article, but from what I'm gathering, they reached out to him for damage control purposes. CDPR is rife with incompetence from the project managers to developers. Their reputation is mud. Even if it was supposed to be a third person game, how does the transition to first person explain all of the advertised content that was cut out?

Playing this shyt it really does feel like they took everything about open world design, without even thinking of current (past 3 years atleast) trends into a bag shook it up, sprinkled some RPG progression mechanics and called it a day.

The driving is poor.
The mission design, while interesting is adequate at best
The voice acting (mail V in particular) is garbage
Stealth is a joke
pedestrians and AI in general is fukking dog shyt
and the tricks they use to hide the limitations are boarding on cheap and cheating

I don't know if it was cut due to being a burden but third person is significantly harder pull off...It does make sense a studio, being pressed to release a game and missing dates would cut TPS for that reason...

You don't need to worry about full player animations in FPS, its basically the guns and hands...Its why player shadows are all fukked up in CP2077, if you use the TPS mod you'll see him/her walking around like the T1000 after Arnold blew his ass up with a grenade...That's because the character doesn't even have a skeleton and animation, which is odd considering this is an updated version of game engine used for TW3...

you also have to worry about the how the camera deals with collisions with objects

but again, they have experience with all this. in Schreier's article, they specifically said that first person was new and challenging for them. so I don't know how people spin that to say the dropped third person because it was too difficult or a "burden"
