Yes, he worked at the shelter that KRS ONE lived with his cousin D Nice. He promoted KRS and played the Dj role. I know all that. It’s called fate. “If somebody didn’t hook up with such and such none of this would have happened” you can say that for everybody in HipHop! What songs did Scott La Rock actually produce that his son is so “Where mines at?” About? How come Scott La family never Sued KRS ONE over unpaid money owed to them like Pun family did to Fat Joe?

Next...

Scott La Rock died before their FIRST BDP album came out so KRS ONE showed love and put his name in the production credits and showed love. This was in the 80s the slave deal days so YOU KNOW KRS ONE didn’t get nothing off that first album.

Next...

Ok fast forward to 2019 KRS ONE put out over 15 more albums and got smarter business wise. You expect KRS ONE to give Scott La Rock son a bag after all the slander his son is talking about him? Would you give a DJ friend that passed away 30 years ago son anything after slandering your name talking about YOU OWE HIM over a album YOU or his daddy didn’t even get paid for making in the 80s? Talking about “Where the fukk is mine at?!”

:francis:

That nikka acting like KRS ONE is his daddy that haven’t paid child support of some shyt.

Scott died between the first album and the second one
pun was signed to fat joe either through a management company or under the Terror Squad banner....so his wife might be owed money under the contracts that were signed between pun and joey. Pun had at least onemultiplatinum album

BDP got jerked on the first album.....not sure what the terms of the Jive contract was, but Scott's kids should have hired an attorney to see what royalties were owe to Scott's estate. He didn't marry any of his kid's mothers, so the women weren't due anything. They should have looked into that paperwork for the kids.
Scott Jr. growing up poor has less to to do with KRS than the fact that his mom had 8 kids

The first BDP album was Criminal Minded, dumbass. Have you ever even heard the title track? The first words are literally "Boogie Down Productions". Scott died AFTER it was recorded and released.

Go back and re-read whatever google research you skimmed through to respond to me. Typed all that bullshyt and you still don't know what the fukk you're talking about. "He was just a DJ", "He died before their first album", "krs showed him love and put his name in the production credits". STFU.

I got “Criminal Minded” mixed up with “By Any Means Necessary” but that still don’t change the fact that they all got jerked on the first album. So his son should be mad at janky ass record label they signed to not KRS ONE! Like I said KRS ONE got his business and contracts right and got his bag. Thanks to Scott LA Rock for putting KRS ONE on the scene but he don’t owe Scott La Rock or his son a fukking kibble for that. You think if Scott La Rock was alive he would sue KRS ONE or the record label that jerked them both as a group?

This is what I’m saying. I got the albums mixed up but it’s still the same. A 80s slave deal that Scott LA Rock son should take that up with the record label not KRS ONE. Even if Scott La Rock produced every beat on both albums himself what can KRS ONE do if the whole BDP camp got jerked out of the deal? Sue the record label! I don’t sit there and be salty at KRS because he is still getting paid for doing shows and your dad can’t! R.I.P Scott La Rock and props for putting one of the greatest rappers alive on the scene.

I agree with you, breh. Krs don't really owe scott la rock jr shyt (although i am surprised krs never looked out for him).

I was moreso addressing your downplaying of scott la rock's role and relegating him to nothing more than a dj. That shyt was just distespectful.

why they acting like his dad was Sean Combs? :mjlol:

Only reason people know Scotts name is from KRS always mentioning him.
Them dudes making noise in the 80s missed the money that came in the 90s...
...I would be surprised if Rakim/BDK/KRS are living extra comfy.

BDK tours internationally and makes dough. Peep him on social media

It’s BDP crew members still in the hood why the hell would he expect the son of the DJ to make it anywhere of his name? Seriously! What have DJ Scott La Rock done beside spin records for the KRS One? This dude is so full of hisself I’ll never check on him again.

R.I.P. Scott La Rock – Remembering the BDP Legend 23 Years Later - XXL

While he was alive, La Rock drafted the aesthetic blueprint for gangsta rap with the previously unexplored street themes and shocking imagery of BDP’s classic Criminal Minded (the only album he ever recorded). On the business side, his Black-owned independent label, B Boy Records, pioneered the burgeoning genre’s rebel entrepreneurialism.

“Scott would have been Puff before Puff, no question,” says Chris Lighty, a close friend of Scott’s who now runs the Violator Records empire. “But without the dancing. He approached the music as a business at a time when most people just wanted to be down and make records.”

Nas is perhaps the greatest rapper ever but Nature caught him with this line in their back and forth diss records.

"You shout out Ill Will, never feeding his moms
she's still in the hood, still eating at Wong's"

============================================================================
Scott was one of the few college educated dudes who was an artist in the culture back then. I don't know what he studied, but it seemed to give him a view of what the possibilities were for the music to grow.

BDP was gonna be like Parliament/Funkadelic with splinter groups. D Nice ended up getting a deal, so did Miss Melody.

Scott was a social worker. That is how he met KRS. Scott was a social worker at the homeless shelter.

R.I.P. Scott La Rock – Remembering the BDP Legend 23 Years Later - XXL

One of Scott’s responsibilities at the shelter was doling out subway tokens to those who needed to travel to job interviews. Shortly after starting, though, he got wise to the fact that several of the shelter’s residents were faking interviews to score tokens, which they’d use instead to go party. When Scott confronted one of the hustlers, the situation got loud and ugly. The resident called Scott a “house Negro, one paycheck away from homelessness.” Scott countered that the homeless man was “obviously lazy, otherwise he’d have a job.” Security was called to separate the two before they came to blows, and the resident left the shelter.

The homeless man was Kris “KRS-One” Parker—a cocky, 20 year-old graffiti artist and self-taught “philosopher” who preferred the street life to the mundane world of working. Three months later, Scott ran into him at Ced Gee’s apartment (coincidentally, KRS had also been putting in time on Ced’s equipment.) After their less-than-civil start, Scott extended the olive branch by inviting KRS to one of his parties.
