I can understand this sentiment, but what exactly was KRS supposed to do?
Scott Jrs Complaint is that he grew up poor in the BX. I think he said that he had a high number of siblings too, I want to say 8 but I could be wrong about that.

So what is KRS to do? Seek to adopt him? Move the mother and all 8 kids in with him?
Buy a house and pay all living expenses for 8 kids until Scott Jr turns 18? At that time does he just abandon Scott’s siblings and mother?

it depends on how well they managed their money because they got decent advances , and they were doing shows for about 50k or more in the late 80's - early 90's. Eric B and Rakim both have appeared to take care of their money. BDK lives modest. he wasnt the smartest with his money initially but he has experienced a resurgence in recent years with touring. I dont know about KRS. not too sure on what he was getting or doing with it but I always figured him to be pretty well off as much or more than the others because he stayed making music longer.

asking “what should I have done?” after the fact is wasting everyone’s time. you do what you can when you’re supposed to, especially if you have the means.

I couldn’t answer that. That would’ve been for krs and jr to figure out. I’m sure time spent throughout the years would’ve turned into some kinda opportunity to help Scott’s son better his situation.

as for the nature of the obligation, Scott discovered krs. Scott was already a college graduate and a popular dj, krs was living in a shelter.
