- Deal could be done before the draft

- North of 13m Per.

The Seahawks have the last pick in the first round of the NFL Draft, but that doesn’t mean they’re not doing any big business in the coming weeks.

According to Jason La Canfora of CBSSports.com, the Seahawks are making “considerable progress” on a new deal for cornerback Richard Sherman, and that both sides “are hopeful it’s complete by the draft.”

Paying Sherman — and La Canfora reports it will come in north of $13 million per year — will be the first of a number of big deals the Seahawks will have to do, before they have to start making the corresponding hard choices.

It should be noted that this is based off a La Canfora report. So take it for what it is worth.

I'm calling BS. No way they paying him this much when they need to resign Wilson and all the other elite talent.

Sea hawks could have won that ring with half of the NFL starting QB's. Seems they know their priorities and not worried about Wilson's future deal

Yall are really dumb if you think they won't be keeping Sherm, Earl, and Russ. The reason they lost the guys they lost this year was to keep the core together.

And Russ>Luck

Uncertain grounds
Im sure they are working on all deals simultaneously, it would be prudent to do so and Schneider has be proven thus far to be pretty good at what he does.

Sherman's deal is probably coming through before Earl's because Earl's contract (after this season) will have netted him about 7 mil more than Sherman throughout the duration of their career. I would expect Earl's to happen pretty shortly thereafter. Plus, they can say north of 13 a year, but let's see how it is going to be structured. Wouldn't be surprised to see Sherm take more this year and give a little space for next season for Russ' contract.

It is a bit curious that Russ is going to be the lowest paid compared to TJack and Pryor, but I'd imagine his deal his coming in the near future as well (at least by about next February).

Thought they would get Thomas done first

The idea is (I imagine): You get the Sherman deal done at as low a number as you possibly can... and then you're able to tier-down thomas from there. You never want to be setting the market from the bottom-up.
