I used to be someone who was against investing so much in the military until I went to visit family living overseas who were in the military. The military provides so many benefits honestly, I think it should be invested in heavily.

From reduced college tuition, home loans, retirement benefits, life skills you can't get in college like how to build, how to shoot a gun, how to live off the land, how to be disciplined and have structure. For men, especially black men, it can be a great place to provide structure and life lessons not gotten at home or during high school.

It's not perfect, but most military men I've met are leaps and bounds better than a lot of the so called college educated dudes in terms of character as well as in terms of diversity in education and life experience.

That's all fine. The issue is, there's a lot of waste and fraud with the military spending. We can do all of those things with a less bloated budget. We also don't need to be maintaining an empire of bases all around the world.

The problem with what you are saying is that you are misrepresenting how these funds will be spent. This money will not be used to bolster the health and welfare of troops for the most part. It will be used in weapons development and upkeep. Most of what you mention is actually benefits under the VA rather than the DOD.

The funniest part is a lot of my classmates from high school joined and they all vote that way while getting paid like shyt :heh:
:mjlol: Dumb asses . I know a few cats that joined the military and changed their whole personality up. I joined at 20 in 2004 and still the same person. we get older and more mature but that doesn't mean you have to put an act that makes it seem like you switched your whole personality :martin:

We really aren't like any other nation, but for giggles, what nation do you think is comparable to the U.S.? In size, wealth, racial & cultural make up, global footprint economically, global footprint militarily, and political structure? or have you decided none of that matters, and since they're industrialized, we are industrialized, we are the same?

none of those attributes has anything to do with universal healthcare & free higher education. If lesser countries can provide it then the "greatest" nation in the world can surely provide it.
