This. As someone who lived in Boston recently, I can tell you that the cost of living alone is a major factor. The fact that one could make 80k in certain parts of the country and still might have to "stretch" their money is telling in itself.

The cost of living is low in MS, so 80K can get you far in MS. Same as TN depending on where you're living.

The same can't be said for other parts of the country, which is why I find it crazy that some dudes are acting like 80K is a lot of money. I even had to tell that to a dude this morning who insisted that $1,400 wouldn't make a difference to someone who is making 80K like that's a lot of income coming in.

Do all these things help people? Yes or no?
Without question they do. I have no problem with Medicare for all or other progressive initiatives. My problem is people like you who don't acknowledge concrete steps that help people. You are a loser tho who will always complain about everything.
Stop. You not for Med4all the way you were regurgitating white house talking points...as usual, disingenuous motives are revealed after getting pass the talking points

"it's better than nothing"
"it's helping somebody"
"can't wait, people are hurting now"
...taken from the defacto argument list for self-serving conformers willing to stagnate progress, while pretending their priorities aren't being shaped by how their membership&group's perception are affected

After capeing for this pitiful two year attempt to "solve" the healthcare problem, this joker will be on here next year talmbot "vote blue, no matter who because this finna expire"
VS
pressuring his party to take advantage of their controlling majority to solve the damn problem

Because the Senate made several changes so the House has to vote to approve.
I get that but the Senate are their superiors it should've stopped there. Now if some jackass House member doesn't like the changes they made he/she could stall this bill

The sad part is I'm not surprised that bruh said that. "We" tend to underestimate the various nuances that exist in relation to class/socio-economic status. Then again, it's hard to think outside of your bubble when that's your only reference. But...you know...let some people tell it, you can financial literacy your way beyond late wave capitalism/neoliberalism :unimpressed:(Rant for another day.lol.).

But cities pay proportion to the cost of living. If $80k ain't enough, the company will give you $100k. Look at San Francisco, is expensive as hell and ain't no way $80k will get much, so companies pay $120k.

It's not enough to counter the rise cost of rent and other necessities needed for living. That also doesn't account for other factors in play that can take up someones income. Kids, student loan, basic living expenses and other factors. There's also taxes that come into play which are rather expensive depending on where you live.

A lot of people in San Francisco are making bread (by my MS standards) and are still out here struggling to make ends meet. That's why I get why they cut the threshold, but it was fukked up that they did.

That seems way too generous especially with the fukkery that ensued during the last stimulus. They at least gotta give people the opportunity to update their banking account or address info.
Most people probably don't have that problem to keep it funky. Most people I know got the same bank account since forever.

A lot of people don't have the same addresses or banking account and had to get the checks mailed. I'm assuming that some of them have gotten it by now, but still. It's better to give them the opportunity to update it on the safe side to prevent future issues.

Even if it's just a few days or week the most that they do it.
