Nobody asked for this fight, that is what the argument is. At this stage most folks are like "fukk it, let's see what happens". You can literally do a search on this site and see nobody was asking for this shyt, and I can be in your daily life nobody was saying this was the fight to make. As it relates to Canelo the only thing the "people" have been asking for is Benvediez. That is a completely different conversation on if Canelo will sell.

Plenty of people were asking for it. Canelo even said he didn't want it and told bud to move on. But then damn near every fighter and trainer came out the woodwork saying bud would give him a boxing lesson. Bhop. Oscar. Ward. Breadman. Shakur. Bozy. You even had fans all over social media and boxing YouTube pages accusing canelo of ducking bud after he refused the fight. Even posters on here said he was ducking.
Now after canelo's last performance even people who originally picked canelo are switching sides. The current odds are the closest canelo fight odds since the Golovkin rematch. The betting public are giving bud a better chance of beating canelo than they gave his last 15 opponents. Even bivol. So the notion that nobody was asking for this fight is just flat out wrong. Maybe the die hards weren't demanding it as much as the benavidez fight, but there was still a huge demand for it. And as far as casual fans it's not even close. Bud is just a bigger name than David at this point. This fight is gonna do massive numbers.

Not only were Spence stans clamoring for that canelo fight, they were saying Spence was gonna walk canelo down and stop him
......the spence stans were up there with the most delusional fanbase of all time. Thank God they're almost extinct now. But I'm sure the pain will never go away. Bud took Spence's soul then took his dream fight

Lol ok man. So we're just gonna pretend there aren't hundreds of videos on YouTube right now of actual fighters and trainers talking about Canelo vs Crawford dating back a year ago. We're just gonna pretend that turk and bud weren't openly trolling canelo all year telling him to stop hiding.
Of course hardcore boxing fans were asking for benavidez too. But aside from that fight, everybody was only talking about Canelo vs Crawford. And that's just the facts. Canelo vs bud has been one of the hottest topics of conversation in all of boxing media ever since bud went on Joe Rogan and called canelo out. If canelo wasn't being asked about David, he was getting asked about Crawford. You haven't been paying attention if you say otherwise. But we'll see when the numbers come out.
Dudes will never be honest lol,. This aint a "Spence fan" thing this is a Spence/PBC hate thing. Spence aint got shyt to do with this. Spence fans never asked that nikka to fight Canelo, that was PBC offering Canelo a deal and I know Bud fans hate to hear this but the business of USA boxing wanted Spence to be the face of it, hence PBC getting Spence vs Manny lined up which was going to be the passing of the torch, Spence having Jerry Jones bring him to Americas team as the hometown kid, having Tom Brady call him pre fight, etc. Most Spence fans did not give a fukk about the politics of boxing, we supported Spence cause he was cool regular ass dude who came from a good family, and put on exciting fights.
Before Canelo went to Matchroom, The PBC Deal had like Mall Charlo Benevidez and Spence as a 3rd Option depending on how the Bud fight went, and Canelo turned it down. If you look back to Mall being on Mike Tysons podcast he was alluding to it was in the works but can't speak on it when Mike kept pressing him, and I can bet that Canelo turning that deal down probably made Mall's situation spiral even more as likely he and his fam probably were banking on that pay day especially when you look at the extravagant life he tries to keep up.
But back to the topic at hand, nikkas can look back to 2023, we were not asking for this shyt, Bud vs Canelo AT BEST was some fantasy what if shyt, but most people were pretty strict casual and hardcore that After Undisputed any Canelo fight that didnt involve Benevidez was a waste of our fukking time. We can even look at how people acted when Canelo took the Bivol fight, most folks were like "why?" and those not familiar with Bivol were like he must be ass, but even the folks who knew Bivol was the truth were not excited for that shyt lol

Why would people be asking for canelo vs bud in 2023
I'm focused on the past year. Which is the only time period that matters. Outside of the David fight, canelo was only being asked about Crawford. Every fight. Every interview. He was being asked about bud. There was clearly plenty of hype surrounding this fight over the past year. Whether or not you think that's a good thing isn't the point. This fight has plenty of interest. To say otherwise is absurd. The numbers will prove that. The fact that they were even able to get it on Netflix is proof enough of how much hype there is surrounding this fight.

Canelo's claim to fame is being a champion across 4 different divisions and unifying 168 for the first time in history. Saying gololvkin is canelo's "claim to fame" is one of the most ridiculous statements I've ever heard
And also saying bud never struggled with opponents like canelo is another absurd statement because bud didn't fight the caliber of fighters canelo did. And bud would admit that himself. There's not a single fighter on buds resume who would give canelo any type of challenge. Including Gamboa and madrimov. Madrimov is basically an extremely poor man's version of Golovkin and we seen the challenge he gave bud. So you're just being disingenuous.
Canelo is going down as one of the greatest fighters in history and the greatest business man in boxing history. And he deserves it all.
