Got the smoothest alley oop of all the 08-09ers (Wale, Cole, Kendrick, etc.)

Lets run down a few:

2 formulaic flows ✔
Major Cosign ✔
100 features with said artist ✔
Constant burn on terrestrial radio ✔
Untrained ear of audience ✔
White people ✔
non-aggressive content ✔
100 tents ✔

:yeshrug:
:ehh:

nikkas got mad at me when i graded his ass with a disclaimer, acknowledging i am aware of the ghostwriting:mjlol:...nikkas dont want you to talk about him as a emcee but cant stop bringing his name up:mindblown:.

He was never a threat to the all time greats anyway in the minds of rational people....i reject him as being a credible emcee, but im almost inclined to judge him among these new nikkas until they all collectively decide he's a fukkboy and not credible....so far they still doin songs or wanna do songs with him, allowing him to talk shyt like he writes his own shyt freely:pachaha:

Except Meek of course who nikkas turned on,guess yall back now:sas1:

I judge him with an asterisk like Barry Bonds, yeah u hit homeruns but we all know what it is,better get humble quick lil nikka,or cross all the way over:sas1:

Really thats enough to me.

I can't fukk with the Bonds comparison, Bonds is GOAT with or without juice.

Keep it music, he's Milly Vanilli.

Ehhh.... Not an "emcee" but as an artist top 5, top 5, top 5. Not gonna get into to far because you can't have intelligent discussion on here. But I never looked at him like lyrical miracle emcee. As an artist he's great. He can move in LOTS of different lanes.
It was the opposite for me, even in my Stan days. I always saw his strength as his writing and lyrics. As s musician he's just okay. He's not like a Kanye level artist. Doesn't have undeniably amazing LP's. They range from good to great. Nothing ground breaking. Just good music. So when he got exposed, it was weird for me

Drake has a huge fan base and makes commercial friendly songs but as for actual skill and lyricism he is behind quite a few of the 'new era' rappers! But he does make good music IMO but he isn't the best rapper.
Kendrick, Cole, and even Big Sean are lyrically superior IMO

drake is a pop/rnb singer that occasionaly raps on songs that are written for him :comeon:

You tripping...

nikka was in his bag on that 4PM in callabases jawn

The bars
The flow

My question is what's the criteria we're grading him against since he's become some what of a Rap anomaly

but he didnt write it himself, all he is doing is reciting someone elses work... hes basically a meat puppet for his record execs - as i say he is a pop/rnb singer

Well at least Drake is showing us one thing. A lot of people don't care about the creativity of artistic talent. They just care about Image/charisma etc
And that's fukking sad !!!

I just saw on twitter someone saying that drake started the Afro beats wave.

See man shyt like that makes me mad :snoop:

He's pretty shytty as an MC. Not on the same lines of Kevin Federline or Soulja Boy, but rappers like Chingy and Lil Flip are definitely better.

As an emcee he's like C/D grade, because you just don't know what percentage of his catalog is his. Under half maybe?

shyt, even with the Gillie accusations Wayne still had Lights Out, 500 Degreez, Squad Up, etc.

No one was writing for a 15 year old Wayne on the original Hot Boys projects, so coach or not Wayne has shown us he is gifted.

He was a B+ sometimes B- type of MC to me before the ghostwriting came out

Now he's a C
If the rhymes aren't his, he should be an F.

As garbage as we want to call Soulja Boy, he made all those hits he had on his own.

Artistically Soulja Boy > Drake
