This is just something that has been on my mind for a minute and I really do not have anyone that is willing to have a serious discussion about it with.

Sometimes my friends say stuff like, "Before I met you, I thought you were stuck up/mean/weird/etc. because you were so quiet. But you're a cool guy!" :krs:

I'm just like :childplease:

Really? Really? Because someone is okay with not having to talk just to hear themselves talk, they are stuck up all of a sudden?

Even in the workplace, the people that usually get promoted are the ones with exceptional social skills. And the ones who actually know their job but are quiet are treated :flabbynsick:.

It's almost 12 PM and I'm already tipsy, so I figured I'd ask the Coli brethren and brethrenettes (?) about their experiences about this

Because of Dale Carnegie. Seriously read Quiet by Susan Cain. I wondered this myself. I think it's because our society doesn’t know how to handle private people or those who are internally involved.

You mean Quiet, lol.

I've had that on my kindle for over a year and haven't read it yet.

try to diagnose yourself with a medical disorder because u a scared loser brehs

:comeon:
Come on bro, you're better than that. This isn't a "medical disorder" and it's not always Black and White. You can be introverted with extroverted qualities and vice versa. This is just a question on why the culture today rewards loud idiots over quiet professionals.

Because you're c*nts.

Why thank you. :smugfavre:

Just a observation, but I noticed that women don't really get the same treatment if they're introverted. Like if you're a women and introverted, people assume you're studious or a book reader or something in that bracket. But if you're a male, especially a young Black man, if you're not turning up 25/8 then you get labelled a lot differently.

:whoa:
This isn't a women bashing post and please don't take it there, just something I noticed.
