It doesn't, slavery is another beast in itself, but people bounce back from that, we're not the only slaves on the planet. What we need to be focusing on, is bouncing back, not complaning.
I'd rather have a discussion about what we need to do to bounce back then think about the past at this point. I think it's about time we start moblizing.
Nobody is complaining; we are identifying the system's mechanisms so as to find solutions to overturn them and my argument is too many people are pointing the finger at the black community without understanding how incredible the oppression is...And our slavery WAS NOT like others slavery. Ours was CHATTEL slavery, which means we were made to be only property. Can you imagine the political, socioeconomic, and cultural aspects plus the seasoning and the psychological effect? Plus how it continues through various means today? You can't MOBILIZE without ORGANIZING and that comes from understand what you are mobilizing against.
