It wasn't about protecting females, it was a social health issue. Prostitution spreads diseases. We used to have epidemic levels of syphilis. There was some crazy percent of adult men who had it in the 19th century because men all hit up brothels on every social level.
That's why I'm against it. We already have bad enough levels of STDs if it gets legalized we'll have all kinds of thots hoing and a man won't be able to touch p*ssy without getting something.
this really comes down to personal responsibility. it's up to you to wear protection, it's up to you whether or not you'll sleep with this girl. This doesn't change whether illegal or decriminalized. your chances of STI transmission doesn't simply jump up in likelihood just because you paid her outright rather than subtly.
