Seriously, why is Prostitution illegal?

It wasn't about protecting females, it was a social health issue. Prostitution spreads diseases. We used to have epidemic levels of syphilis. There was some crazy percent of adult men who had it in the 19th century because men all hit up brothels on every social level.

That's why I'm against it. We already have bad enough levels of STDs if it gets legalized we'll have all kinds of thots hoing and a man won't be able to touch p*ssy without getting something.

this really comes down to personal responsibility. it's up to you to wear protection, it's up to you whether or not you'll sleep with this girl. This doesn't change whether illegal or decriminalized. your chances of STI transmission doesn't simply jump up in likelihood just because you paid her outright rather than subtly.

You're against prostitution being legal mainly to control STDs. Okay.

legalize and tax it, just like ganja. add more oversight and even unions for sex workers. establish penalties for not being up to date on STD testing. ensure johns are clean via a 3rd party agency.

there are more risks with anything illicit and the market will always exist. legalize it and watch STD transmission rates and a lot of the high-risk behavior with the lifestyle go down statistically.

we are too steeped in archaic, outdated christian ideals of morality that are hindering us from thinking logically.
