Shanahan mulls sitting RG III for rest of '13 (update RG3 Benched)

I don't have anything bad to say about RG3 outside the fact that he isn't as good as he thinks he is, he was feeling himself too much after last year as well.

The QBs that have followed him at Baylor blew him out of the water as far as statistics as well. Above average though but not up there with Luck or Wilson.

The intangibles, audible ability and he has textbook mechanics. He's not as good as he was projected at Stanford but he's not that far off. His only knock is his arm strength.

I've never quite understood the RG3 bashing (unless it's to poke fun at 'Skins fans ) but for the most part, they've been nearly the same QB statistically give or take a few TDs, INTs and the slight sack differential for this year.

Going away from stats, you could argue that RG3 would be better if Shanahan/Snyder/Griffin all 3 weren't overzealous and didn't shoot to play from Week 1 onwards. If Washington just rested Griffin/let him rehab til Week 5, given how open the NFC East was for the first 8-9 weeks, he could've came back healthier and more confident than he is now and Washington could've had a decent shot.

This was always bound to happen. Shanahan was never a fan of RG3.

He drafted Cousins and never wanted to use RG3 but fell for public pressure.
Stephen A. Smith reported almost 2 years ago no way would he have drafted him had the owner not intervened.
