How did he benefit from Pau, when Pau never won a single playoff game as the guy? Not 1. He was 0-12 or 0-16...whichever it was. He wasn't getting 1 W. Name one other star player that didn't get a single W in the playoffs. He's a complimentary piece.

A guy who made 4 all nba teams while sharing his position with Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, Dirk Nowitzki, Amare Stoudemire, Blake Griffin, and Zach Randolph who was a guy you could count on for 19-20 points and 10-11 rebounds with damn good passing and defense made a world of difference. The previous 3 seasons for the lakers went as follows:

He was a second option on a championship team that had all of his shooting percentages skyrocket while being next to Kobe Bryant. In every physical series the Lakers played, he wilted and showed why he couldn’t be a number 1 option. In real time - some Lakers fans were saying we would be better with Marc given how soft Pau was playing. Pau was a very skilled big man and perfect compliment to Kobe and for the triangle but he’s a HOFer solely because he got to play with Kobe Bryant. Take that away and there’s not much separating him career-wise from a bunch of guys who had some good seasons.
