It’s clear you don’t like Kobe but downplaying him this bad is crazy.

Dude had an advanced BBIQ. Players don’t get back-to-back rings as an older, slower combo guard unless they got a little something extra.

McGrady and Vince simply didn’t have that.
He had an elite BBIQ in his later years. He did not have an elite BBiQ with Shaq. Phil called him an uncoachable child. You don’t say that about someone blowing you away with his decision making.

I’m a numbers guy and not a feelings guy. And numbers don’t lie. :yeshrug: “Kobe didn’t have the ball enough to rack up assists” isn’t supported by facts. 36.7% usage, 3.7 assists. Abysmal

Kobe and Duncan probably win 3

Kobe and Dirk probably win 3

Put Kobe with any premier big man in that era and the results are the same.

Easy to speak on dead mans legacy lol

I agree, but since Kobe is dead that's why Shaq is poppin all this sh1t...did his sensitive a$$ never get over Kobe telling the nicca to stay in shape ?

I really don't like Shaq

Shaq entertaining all these what-ifs, but what if Kobe was alive and said this

what if Kobe was like "I would have more rings with Tim Duncan" or something like that

nikka I WAS SPEAKING
ON THE ORLANDO MAGIC
FINALS TEAM VINCE JOINED
THE NETS FINALS TEAM VINCE JOINED
AND THE HOUSTON TEAM TMAC JOINED

How are the Nets a Finals team when they lost in the second round a year before Vince got there?

How you figure Orlando beating Boston? Lakers had more talent than that Orlando team and they went 7 games against them (and could’ve easily lost that series).

Kobe and Yao alone is not winning no damn championship. Yao’s backup was an old ass Mutombo. Again, Kobe’s Lakers teams that went to the Finals had more talent.

A players legacy is defined by championships. However for this to be logical, championships must be weighted correctly.

The only type of rings that truly define a players legacy are those that were won as the number one option.

Kareem may have won 6 but he wasn't the first option for them all, so his 6 doesn't weigh the same as Jordan's 6.

Guys like Magic, Kobe and Kareem who have a mix of first option and second option rings are not going to be automatically considered better than players like LeBron, Hakeem and Bird who won less rings but were the number one options for all of them.

When you analyse the top ten player list only Jordan and Russell stand head and shoulders above everyone else when it comes to ring count.

The rest are in the range of 2-4 rings in which they were the best players on the team.

Unfortunately for Bryant, he is in the lower end of the group with 2 rings as the best player. So in the minds of some they rank him outside the top ten.

I've never heard Magic or Kareem referred to as a sidekick was my point. It's always left at Magic has 5 and Kareem 6 even with Kareem being a 3rd option in his last 2 and only averaging like 14 and 6 in his last win. I don't take nothing away from him for it, just saying they evaluate Kobe one way in regards to playing with Shaq but then look the other way when it comes to Kareem/Magic who also played with James Worthy.

And sorry but Bill Russell was Ben Wallace on a team full of Hall of famers but gets boosted for being the defensive anchor of many championship teams. Question is if it was today how many rings would Ben Wallace have needed for you to put him above Shaq? Bob Cousy was MVP the same season Bill won his first ring. Is that the man? Bron manicured teams to have 2 1A players for 3 out of his 4 rings. His 4th ring, AD was better because he played great on BOTH sides of the ball.

A lot of people evaluate players based on who they like and not on what actually happened.

How about this 5ive head

He won't listen to anyone. I've had it with this kid" - Phil Jackson called Kobe Bryant "uncoachable" during the 2003-04 season

As Phil Jackson detailed in the 2003-04 season diary entitled "The Last Season: A Team in Search of Its Soul," Kobe was jealous of the tolerance star center Shaquille O'Neal received from the Lakers. But according to Phil, "nobody this year, or in any year I've coached, has received more 'allowances' than Kobe Bryant."

The allowances were just one part of the whole fiasco. Jackson and Kobe reportedly got into heated altercations during practices. The two basketball titans were engaged in combat even when they weren't talking.

He reiterated how uncomfortable he was working with Kobe. Jackson also encouraged the Lakers' front office to find a coach matching Bryant's attitude.

"Kobe had a real hard time that year and was disrespectful," Phil stated. "And so I went in and told the leadership that even though we were negotiating a contract, I think that Kobe was uncoachable and he was difficult to handle at this time and probably, I wasn't the best coach for him."

While Jackson was enjoying his time in his Montana mansion, Kobe bumped his minutes to over 40 a game, but to no avail. The Black Mamba struggled to guide the team to a winning record. LA amassed a mediocre 34-48 record in the 2004-05 season for 11th place in the West. The Lakers failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in 10 years.

We should put an end to these discussions where you swap out a player who's achieved everything for one who hasn't won a thing, thinking you'll achieve the same level of success.

This is absolutely the talk I hate. It takes a lot more than a player swap to win a championship. Vince Carter has never won anything for a reason, despite playing with great players.

lmao

It ain't even like that as far as having someone shook

but I do think if Kobe were still alive Shaq wouldn't entertain all these hypotheticals, but at the same time if Kobe were still alive media and players wouldn't disrespect his basketball accomplishments like this

Lebrons worst performance ever, literally gone down in legend is still better than Kobe’s worst.

And that Mavs team was twice as good as that Pistons team
lebron's is worse because the title was there to be had for the heat if he didnt choke in every 4th quarter. the lakers led going into the 4th of one game in that finals and it was by only 2 points. kobe had a bad series but proof that the pistons were a far superior team is the pivotal game 4, tied going into the 4th, kobe 3-6 8pts, shaq 5-6 13pts, lakers lose by 8.

as far as the matchups, the heat were no.1 in srs and net rating, dallas was 8th in both. the pistons were 2nd in net, 4th in srs, the lakers were 7th in both.

T Mac had #1 talent with bad intangibles

Why are you being intentionally obtuse?

You know goddam well T Mac was KILLIN back then and if you put him on a team with SHAQUILLE O'NEAL in his prime that is a fukkin dynasty

Why do you do this?

:what:
