Then Phil came .
Breh bottom line. Shaq won because of Kobe and Phil. Without either he’s not the Shaq of today. He had 3 OTHER all stars on his team in 1998, and we saw what happened. When Phil came and Kobe matured we saw what happened. He needs to stop.
Been said this.

Shaq already showed he could carry a team minus Phil or Kobe prior to playing with them.

You really want to downplay how quickly he turned an expansion team around in that era, be my guest.

I miss the era where greats without a ring were viewed as its just a matter of time for them rather than being viewed as failures. Its how MJ was viewed as the GOAT before winning a ship. We all knew it was a matter of time.

Couldn’t carry them to the chip like he’s projecting himself. Hes not humble and the facts prior to Kobe and Phil needs to be presented in order the see his whole career and why he’s so insecure now. He speaks like his because he knows he underachieved and he wants to change the narrative. Ride on that Shaq bus if you want, it’s a slippery slope, and you know it.

I downplayed nothing. Don’t insert me with those you’ve debated this topic with. I presented his playoff losses before Phil and the emergence of Kobe. I disagree with Shaq.

I miss the same era you miss, and I wholeheartedly agree with you. Rings was never the end all be all, it was just the cherry on top. Here we are now in the new era of thinking, yelling at the moon going against our TRUE beliefs just to roll with the punches.

:pachaha: You don’t like Kobe like that and it’s okay. No need to pretend, because you’re doing a horrible job at it. But keep “trolling” his stans, as you call it.
Like all Kobe stans, you will believe whatever you want to believe.

I’ve come to terms with that long ago.

That should be all that needs to be said. Shaq joined a team that only played its inaugural season 3 years prior to his debut and by his 3rd season they were in the finals. That Kobe stans are trying to downplay that they lost specifically to the defending champs led by arguably a top 10 player ever while the Magic had just a combined 5 years of experience between their 2 best players should also say a lot.

Listen….Shaq is an acquired taste. I personally feel he burns too many bridges because of his prickly ego. But he most certainly showed he could carry a team to a ship before earning one. Just needed the right pieces around him.

Nope. I’ve seen your posts over the years. You get off on, “trolling”, “Kobe stans”, so that you can present your true feelings and not be labeled as a “hater”. It’s easy to see through your so called trolling. Your dialogue and participation in anti Kobe threads is plentiful breh, and not in his favor. And it’s cool. Just stop acting like you’re a troll. Just be the hater that you are. Wear it :pachaha:

And stop blowing kisses at men:dame:

Seriously. Success happened so quickly. In 2025 and in this shyt ring culture mentality, it’s viewed as a failure.

I can’t….

Just like most superstars, the right pieces is what wins. I just think he feels that he’s better than he truly is concerning this topic. This was about him more than it was about Kobe.

There’s nothing left to do but troll you cultists.
Kobe was a great player. Arguably the second most beloved/iconic athlete of the century after Iverson.

But he was not as great as Jordan or Lebron. He benefitted tremendously from Shaq and Pau.

And it absolutely kills you bashyt lunatics to admit it.

Don’t accuse me of hating when I’m trying to spread love.
It’s the Brooklyn way.
