Now Kobe DID win TWO rings without Shaq. There is no disputing that.
But them 1st 3? Kobe and the Lakers rode Shaq's coattails.
Shaq was the main man, he was the MVP of each of them finals, he was the leading man, he was the main focus. Teams was doub teaming and game planning for Shaq more than anyone else on that court.
To put things in to more perspective let's just talke about the 3 finals alone.
In 2000 vs Pacers Shaq was avg 38 ppg and Kobe 15.5
In 2001 vs 76ers Shaq was avg 27.4 ppg and Kobe was 17.2
Now those are paltry "role player" numbers right there.
Now I won't front in 2002 Kobe did FINALLY step his game up a little and avg 26.8 ppg but Shaq was avg 36.3
Kobe was a Robin who at best later on became Nightwing
